The situation in Ukraine
It has been 683 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First of all,
here are some general facts.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the losses of Russian troops were
860 soldiers
4 tanks
22 armored combat vehicles
36 artillery pieces
1 multiple rocket launcher
4 air defense systems
24 drones
55 other vehicles.

The entire front reported 62 ground battles in a single day.

And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 8.2 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.

Military trucks,
civilian trucks and tanks are the most common losses on the Russian side,
in that order,
while boats are prominent in the losses on the Ukrainian side.

This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use the YouTube chapter feature to watch the necessary parts.

A Danish news site reported that officials from the country's Defense Ministry said that the delivery of the F-16s,
which was originally scheduled to deliver the first six aircraft by the end of 2023,
has been postponed by up to six months due to delays in the work.

In response,
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Ignat said,
"This is not an official comment,
" adding,
"We should receive the F-16s in the spring.

By the way,
F-16 training is being conducted in the UK,
the US and Denmark,
and the situation in each country can be summarized as follows,

First,
in the UK,
training began last year and is expected to continue for up to two years,

In the U.S.,
training is scheduled to continue until the end of this year and may be completed earlier,

Denmark has already conducted training with actual aircraft.

Second.
According to a periodic report of the British Ministry of Defense,
Russia has completely lost its air superiority,
making it more difficult than ever for Russian forces to conduct offensive operations on the Ukrainian front lines.

According to the report,
after Ukraine shot down three Russian Su34 fighter-bombers in Khrson on December 22 last year,
Russia almost completely stopped its airstrikes in the southern Khrson area,
causing Russian forces to fail to reoccupy the Ukrainian military bridgehead,
the analysis said.

Experts analyzed that the Su34s were mainly used to drop FAB 500,
a 500-kilogram guided glide bomb from a distance,
but were most likely shot down by the Patriot.

The New York Times reported that "Japan will be the real supplier to Ukraine" regarding Patriot missiles.

This is because although Japan does not allow the export of weapons to combat zones,
it is now allowed to export Patriot missiles to the United States,

According to a U.S. Department of Defense official,
"it will help replenish the U.S. stockpile and potentially provide assistance to Ukraine."

Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
We will tell you where the war situation is changing.

Northeast area of Luhansk region

I will report on the war situation in the area from Halkiu and Kupyansk to the Svatove-Kreminna line and around Sibersk.

In this area the Russians attacked Shinkivka seven times.

The Institute for the Study of War analyzes that in this sector the Russians are close to reorganizing their degraded forces and that in the coming weeks the Russians are likely to launch an offensive to occupy Kupyansk,
while the Ukrainian army shows no signs of an imminent large-scale offensive.

Ukrainian military offensive operations continue in Belgorod,
north of Kharkiv.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian military,

conducted an attack on Russian positions in Belgorod,
using a drone to attack the supply base of the Russian 1st Armored Division.
Something burning can be seen in the image.

It also reportedly destroyed two Pantsir air defense systems,
and a video of the entire attack was released.

The video shows a Russian air defense system being located,
although the method of attack is unknown.

In addition,
regarding the Belgorod attack reported in yesterday's video,
Minister Budanov clarified that "an iconic figure of the Russian Federation was injured and a helicopter was used to urgently transport him to Moscow.

In Shinkivka,
according to the located video,
the Ukrainian army attacked the exit of the forest,
which resulted in a battle.

First,
the Ukrainian army launched a drone attack on the location on the battle map and destroyed the Russian army trenches one by one.

The Ukrainian army is monitoring the Russian trenches.

So far,
so good,
but the Russians have fired hot gas bombs from TOS1A multiple rocket launchers at the same spot five times,
as far as can be confirmed.

The image shown here is from the Russian side and shows the location on the battle map.

A hot air bomb is a surface suppression bomb that uses combustible gas instead of gunpowder,

When the bomb lands,
it spreads a flammable aerosol that burns explosively,
first crushing the lungs and breaking the bones in the body in a shock wave,
then depriving the surrounding area of oxygen and making it impossible to breathe,
as well as spreading heat of thousands of degrees.

The flammable gases also penetrate through gaps in buildings and trenches,
making them effective against the enemy inside.

Since there have been no reports of Ukrainian infantry advancing and establishing a stronghold at this location,
it is highly likely that the Russians were projecting hot-air bombs into their own positions,
which would be an own goal in soccer terms.

This location has been moved from Russian-occupied to contested territory on the battle map.

Third.
In the Serebryansky Forest,
a donated Ukrainian drone destroyed a Russian tank at the location on the battle map,
confirming this location as the front line.

The video shown is from the Ukrainian side and shows the location of the battle map.

Otherwise,
there was no change in the battle map,
although positional fighting continued on both sides.

Eastern part of the country,
Bakhmut region

The following is a report on the situation in the Bakhmut region.

Russian forces have attacked three times in this area,
but Ukrainian forces have repulsed all of them.

On the other hand,
both sides are severely restricting each other's movements by shelling and rocket attacks.

First,
east of Zaryznyanske,
the Russians shelled Ukrainian positions at least three times.

Next,
east of Hryhorivka,
the Ukrainian military carried out seven confirmed airstrikes with helicopters.

And in the forests to the west of Krovyi,
the Russians attacked at least six times with multiple rocket launchers.

These have not changed the picture of the war.

Southeast Donetsk region

The weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is -2 degrees Celsius and the maximum is 8 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy and rainy.

Below is an update on the situation in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.

Avdiivka

The Russians attacked Avdiivka 4 times and Pervomaiske and Neveleske 15 times.

The Russian military launched an offensive against Avdiivka in October last year,
but it seems that the offensive has stalled due to heavy losses,
and the Russians are expected to attack the surrounding area for a while to draw the Ukrainian forces in another direction before launching another offensive against Avdiivka.

Russian airstrikes around Krasnohorivka on this day are aimed at controlling the movements of the Ukrainian military.

According to the video with location information,
Russian troops are conducting a drone strike on a residential area south of Kamianka,
confirming that this area is under the control of Ukrainian troops.

Also to the south,
at the edge of the factory area,
the Russians are conducting drone strikes on the location shown on the battle map,
confirming that this location is on the front line,

This confirms that this location is on the front line.

The video shown here is from the Russian side,
monitoring the Ukrainian troops as they approach their positions across the crater-like pond before dropping something on them.

In other axes of attack in Pervomaiske and Neveleske,
the Russians also carried out air strikes and launched attacks,
but the Ukrainian forces repelled them,
leaving the battle picture unchanged.

Marinka sector

In this sector,
the Russians bombed Marinka and Novomihailivka,
followed by 15 ground attacks,
and continued their offensive.

According to our information,
to the west of Marinka,
the Russians carried out air strikes and then advanced to the church,
where they established a stronghold.

To the north,
the Russians captured a factory at the location shown on the battle map.

The map has been updated from Disputed Territory to Russian Occupied Territory.

The total area of both is about 0.2 square kilometers.

In Novomirovka,
the Russians conducted airstrikes and artillery bombardments to the west of the city center,
and small positional battles took place,
but no information was available that would affect the battle map.

What we are showing you is footage from the Russian side of Novomirovka in the early morning hours.

There is no further information on the Vuhledar area,
where we reported yesterday that Ukrainian troops had advanced,
and there is no change in the battle map.

Southern Zaporizhia province

No significant ground fighting has been reported in this area,
and there are no changes to the battle map.

Rear Areas

In Crimea,
the Ukrainian military has been attacking with rocket attacks and water drones over the past few days,
and it is gradually becoming clear that the losses suffered by the Russian military are significant.

The first attack was reported in the previous two videos,
the result of the Ukrainian Air Force's attack with 10 missiles on the Sakhi airfield and Sevastopol after the Ukrainian military attacked the air defense system in Evpatoria on January 4,

Two facilities were destroyed and at least 23 Russian servicemen,
including five high-ranking Russian military officers and four special forces soldiers,
were killed and dozens wounded.

Water drones were also apparently used in the attack,
and on the beach in Evpatoria,
near the Saky airfield,
social networking sites showed the Ukrainian military's Sea Baby water suicide drone being launched onto the beach.

A Russian military blogger said,
"It was a very big loss.
The Russian air defense system in Crimea has been weakened and will be successfully attacked again by the Ukrainian military in the near future."

● Southern Kherson Province

In this sector,
Russian forces made 13 attacks on Krinky,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
without any information affecting the war picture.

■■Others

The Greek Orthodox Elders of Athos have released their prophecy for this year,
which is said to have been well received in previous years.

The Autonomous Monastic Republic of Athos,
the largest holy site of the Greek Orthodox Church,
is a small peninsula jutting into the Mediterranean Sea in Greece,
but it is a religious state with extraterritorial jurisdiction and is run by monasteries of the Orthodox Church in each country.

The approximately 2,
000 monks live a life of prayer and service in a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages.

The elders of this holy place predicted this year for Ukraine that "after difficult times,
a powerful nation will be born and the difficulties will end.

And about Russia,
they said,
"The new empire will fail and face isolation.
The ruler of Russia will remain on the throne for two more years,
but he will meet an ignominious end.
Parts of the south and east of Russia will disappear,
and many will be free of Moscow.

That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
