Situation in Ukraine
It has been 688 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general thing.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian military losses are
840 soldiers
10 tanks
16 armored combat vehicles
11 artillery guns
1 air defense system
1 drone
18 other vehicles.
Drone losses were low because the cold weather froze the drones and prevented the soldiers operating them from being at observation points.
Across the entire front,
73 ground attacks were reported in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses that can be visually confirmed is 1 to 2.0,
which is twice the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are mostly civilian and military trucks,
while the losses on the Ukrainian side are mostly boats.
Here is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use the YouTube chapter function to watch it if necessary.
1.
Major General Skibitsky of the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published an estimate of the size of the Russian forces in Ukraine in a broadcast on social networks.
According to him,
the number of Russian troops currently involved in the war in Ukraine is 462,000 ground troops alone,
to which must be added 35,000 for maintaining the occupation,
for a total of 497,000.
This figure does not include the navy or air force.
This is the equivalent of 38.5 divisions of motorized rifle brigades,
a level that is 92% to 95% of capacity and can be replenished by pulling 50% of the worn-out units to the rear.
Military experts at Defense Express estimate that this would require 7,200 tanks,
9,200 armored combat vehicles,
and 4,000 artillery pieces,
but it is doubtful that the Russian military could deploy that much equipment.
In other words,
it can be rephrased as "there is a shortage of equipment and there are too many people.
Since Russia will hold a presidential election in March,
it is possible that the Russian military will soon launch an offensive for political propaganda purposes.
Second.
At a press conference in Brussels,
European Defense Industry Council spokesman Bernsell said that Europe already has the capacity to produce well over 1 million artillery shells and that "we will be able to provide Ukraine with 1 million shells by spring," which would delay the originally promised 1 million shells by about three months.
The company expects to be able to deliver the originally promised one million shells with a delay of about three months.
Similarly,
Stano,
the head of the EU's foreign policy office,
said that "by the end of last month,
more than 300,000 artillery shells had been delivered to Ukraine," with the remaining 600,000 to 700,000 shells expected to arrive in the next three months or so.
Russia,
on the other hand,
is said to have the capacity to produce 2 million artillery shells per year,
to which will be added more than 1 million shells provided by North Korea,
Belarus and Iran.
Although it is necessary to consider not only the number of shells,
but also the power and accuracy of the shells,
the war in Ukraine is a war of attrition,
and production capacity will become more important in the future.
Third.
A survey of President Putin's approval ratings conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago found that he has little support among younger voters.
According to the survey results,
when asked who they would vote for in the March elections,
73% of those over 60 said they would vote for President Putin,
while 53% of those under 30 said they would vote for another candidate and 47% said they would vote for someone else.
When asked about the war in Ukraine,
63% of Russians supported the war,
with the most common reason cited being the "NATO threat," according to the poll.
In addition,
62% of respondents believe that Russia is treated unfairly in the world,
64% believe that the war in Ukraine is a civilizational war between Russia and the West,
and 68% said they were concerned about the spread of LGBT propaganda.
Meanwhile,
a majority of 80% said their lives had stayed the same or got worse since the war in Ukraine began,
citing rising prices as the cause.
The survey was conducted by telephone in Russian from November 13-21.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
We will report on the war situation in the area from Halkiu and Kupyansk to the Svatove-Kreminna line and from the Siversk area to Bakhmut.
In this area the Russians attacked five times near Shinkivka,
six times near Terny and once in the direction of Bakhmut.
Kupyansk Sector
There was no information that could affect the battle map in this area,
Ukrainian military spokesman Ficho appeared on a radio program to discuss the situation in Shinkivka.
According to him,
"Shinkivka has already become legendary under the name 'Second Chernobayevka,
The Russian army follows the same path every time and is repulsed in the same parking lot.
The attacking soldiers must also advance knowing that they will be destroyed here," he said,
noting that "it is good that this trend continues.
Chernobayevka,
by the way,
is a metaphor for a place that is easy to get into but hard to get out of,
as in the case of Belogorovka,
where the Russians were repulsed after numerous attempts to cross the river.
Around Sibersk
According to the found video,
Russian troops made a slight advance on the line east of Vessele.
It is from the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
where a Ukrainian drone watches Russian troops walking on the railroad tracks before attacking.
The battle map has been updated with Russian troops advancing from the contested area in this vicinity.
Around Bakhmut
East of the Klishchiivka pond,
the Russians launched an attack that was repelled by Ukrainian forces,
who also used cluster bombs.
This location looks very unstable with thin supply lines,
but Ukrainian forces have been holding positions there for 20 days.
The Ukrainian army may be setting up a base in such a place to invite the Russian army to attack.
The image shown is from the Ukrainian side,
showing the location on the battle map where the Russians attempted to advance and the Russian infantry fighting vehicles that were repelled.
There are no changes to the battle map.
Southeast Donetsk region.
Weather in Avdiivka is cloudy,
light snowfall.
Minimum temperature -7‹C,
maximum -2‹C.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy with occasional light snow.
The forecast is for cold temperatures of -20 degrees Celsius for the next few days.
Here is an update on the situation in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka
According to Mashovec,
a Ukrainian military veteran reporting from the front,
there are signs that the Russians are trying to break the stalemate by bypassing Avdiivka from the north.
1.
In the direction of Novovakumchivka,
northwest of Krasnohorivka,
Ukrainian troops are destroying Russian trenches one by one.
What we show you is the Ukrainian side,
where the drone and the Russian soldiers in the trenches are facing each other at the location on the battle map.
The battle map is unchanged.
Second.
At Stepove the Russian troops continue their advance.
According to the position video,
the Russians rushed to Stepove with two tanks,
MTLB armored combat vehicles and infantry,
but were intercepted by Bradley infantry fighting vehicles of the 47th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
and the Russians were able to advance to the battle map,
but were repulsed and the infantry fled.
Again,
no changes were made to the map.
3rd.
On the outskirts of the factory area south of Avdiivka,
the position video shows that the Russians shelled the location on the battle map and the Ukrainians advanced.
The video shows the location of the battle map,
which is a quiet area,
but with smoke rising from the ground.
This area was occupied by Russian troops on November 26,
but the battle map has been updated to show that Ukrainian troops have partially retaken the area.
There were no other changes to the battle map for the Vodyane,
Pervomaiske,
and Neveleske axes of attack.
The Marinka Sector
In this sector,
the Russians launched 16 attacks in the direction of Heolyivka and near Novomihailivka,
but the Ukrainian army returned fire and the Russians were unable to advance,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
South,
Zaporizhia province.
In this sector,
the Russians launched five attacks on Verbove and Robotyne,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
and the Russians were unable to advance.
Meanwhile,
positional video footage shows Ukrainian forces advancing south of Robotyne and Russian forces retreating.
The Russian drone is shown here charging the Ukrainian positions at the location shown on the battle map.
The battle map has been updated to show this area as Ukrainian forces have retaken the area from Russian occupation.
South,
Kherson Province.
In this area,
Russian forces launched 11 attacks on Krinky,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces.
Natalie Khomenyuk,
a spokesman for the Ukrainian Army's southern theater of operations,
reported that the Russians have reduced infantry attacks as a result of losses in the Storm Z assault force.
1.
In Kulinksy,
the Russians launched a multi-rocket attack on a location on the battle map,
and the Ukrainians launched drone strikes to the east and west of the town,
but there was no information about any changes in the battle map: BBBB
More.
As part of President Vladimir Putin's pre-election campaign,
Russian spokesman Peskov made his first visit to the Chukchi,
near the Bering Sea,
to ride in and promote the Predator,
a Russian-made all-terrain,
all-purpose vehicle.
Spokesman Peskov was asked after the test drive what he thought of the all-terrain vehicle,
The steering is bad,
the transmission is bad.
The engine was fine,
but I was told that this engine was imported," he complained.
If it was an election campaign,
"President Putin" could have visited the site,
but the point is that for some reason,
Press Secretary Peskov visited the site.
As we reported in our previous video,
the news could be a sign that available reserves are dwindling.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
