Situation in Ukraine
It's been 677 days since Russia invaded Kyiv,
and first of all,
general matters.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were
780 soldiers
6 tanks
17 armored combat vehicles
18 artillery guns
2 air defense systems@
66 drones
47 other vehicles.
Across the entire front,
54 ground battles were reported in a single day.
And the ratio of the number of Ukrainian equipment losses to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 3.7 to 1,
compared to the number of losses on the Russian side.
Most of the losses on the Ukrainian side are civilian vehicles and communications antennas,
and the ratio is almost 1 to 1 when compared to combat vehicles alone.
The Russian military appears to be actively using suicide drones in the combat zone.
There is no particular trend in casualties on the Russian side.
Here is a short news report on the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use the YouTube chapter feature to watch the necessary parts.
1.
Ukraine's biggest success in the war last year was probably the withdrawal of Russia's Black Sea fleet from Crimea,
which it had held for 240 years,
and Ukraine's securing of sea lanes in the Black Sea.
Pukhov,
director of the Moscow Center for Strategic and Technical Analysis,
told Bloomberg that "the Russian fleet has effectively withdrawn from Crimea,
" and British Defense Secretary Shapps said that "Russian dominance in the Black Sea has been challenged.
Those who believe that the war in Ukraine has stalled,
as evidenced by the recent destruction of landing craft,
are mistaken".
Second.
Telegram channel of wives of mobilized Russian soldiers have talked about writing to President Putin: "You should be on the front lines" and "Burn in hell",
among other things.
Also according to Newsweek,
a poll released last Friday showed that half of the Russian public wants the war in Ukraine to end this year,
with only 6% saying they want Russia to win.
According to Russian political scientist Stanovaya,
"The Kremlin has demanded that local authorities prevent anti-war protests by the wives of mobilized soldiers,
and the authorities are careful to avoid demonstrations that would be suppressed by large police forces ahead of Russia's presidential election in March,
" according to his analysis.
Third.
Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that the country's IT forces hacked Russia's largest online cash register company,
rendering payment terminals in Russia inoperable.
The impact was felt in numerous retail stores,
cafes,
and beauty salons across Russia,
and "could have a significant impact on the Russian economy in the new year" as cashless payments are no longer possible.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation is changing.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern Bakhmut region
We will report on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu to Kupyansk,
and from the area around Sibersk to Bakhmut.
In this area the Russians attacked eight times near Shinkivka,
twice near Makiivka and twice near Bakhmut,
but the Ukrainian forces repulsed all of them,
and there was no information that would affect the war picture.
Ukrainian military spokesman Ficho said that Ukrainian forces were conducting an active defense in the area and would launch a ground war if possible.
Southeastern Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is rainy.
The minimum temperature is -2 degrees Celsius and the maximum is 5 degrees Celsius.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy with occasional rain.
The forecast has changed to a cold snap of minus 11 degrees this week.
Here is an update on the situation in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka
Russian troops have launched 18 attacks in this area,
and Ukrainian troops continue to hold them off.
Ukrainian military spokesman Stupun reported that "Russian troops are accumulating reserves in this area,
" noting that Russian forces are concentrating their efforts on the siege of Avdiivka.
1.
In the area of Krasnohorivka,
Russian forces launched attacks in the north,
northwest,
west,
southwest and south.
On the northwestern axis of these attacks,
we reported in yesterday's video that the Ukrainian troops advanced to the railroad tracks,
but according to the found video,
the Russian troops then launched an offensive and advanced across the tracks.
What we are showing you is the tree line on the battle map west of the railroad tracks,
where the Ukrainian troops are monitoring the trenches dug by the Russians before attacking.
As you can see from the informative new UI,
they are testing a new drone that can carry a total of four mines and a 4 kg warhead.
By the way,
the video has been edited by YouTube convention to cut out the quiet parts.
We have updated the map of the area from disputed to occupied by the Russians.
The area is about 0.3 square kilometers.
2.
At Stepove,
Ukrainian forces repelled the Russians early before the attack,
destroying a Russian T80 tank and two BMP infantry fighting vehicles on the east side of the railroad tracks.
Shown here is the location of the battle map,
with Russian soldiers huddled and hiding among the wreckage of the IFVs.
There are no changes to the map here.
Other than that,
there is no other information affecting the battle map,
and the Ukrainian army repulsed the Russian attack,
and no Russian advance was confirmed.
Marinka Sector
In this sector,
Russian forces conducted a total of 9 attacks on Marinka and Novomihailivka,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
and there was no information affecting the battle map.
Southern Zaporizhia province
In this sector,
the Russians attacked twice at Priutne and four times from Robotyne to the Kopani line,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces each time,
and the Russians were unable to advance.
Meanwhile,
there was movement from Verbove to Robotyne.
According to several sources,
the Ukrainian army retreated from the line between Velbove and Robotyne,
where the Russians entered and reoccupied the area.
The area is a little difficult to see,
but it covers an area of about 5 square kilometers.
This means that the Russian triple defense line,
known as the Slovikin line,
which was created to respond to a reversal offensive of the Ukrainian army,
has almost regained control of the Russian army,
except for a part of Velbove.
South,
Kherson province.
In this direction,
the Russian forces have suffered heavy losses,
their combat capability has been greatly reduced,
and they may again be in a critical situation.
A Russian military blogger reported that Russian paratroopers are suffering heavy losses while neither resting nor resupplying,
Another military blogger reported that experienced paratroopers are suffering heavy losses.
Similarly,
a veteran military blogger reporting on the situation in Ukraine noted that the 328th and 337th Airborne Regiments of the 104th Airborne Division,
a new unit deployed in the area,
had been fighting for a month without rest or supplies and were "so exhausted that they had to withdraw once they were deployed.
Meanwhile,
Airborne Commander Teplinsky has stated that Airborne Academy graduates are being taken out of the post-graduate training program early and put into this 104th Airborne,
which means that the unit is deteriorating at an alarming rate.
1.
In Krinky,
the Russians launched an attack from the southwest direction of the city,
but this attack was repelled by Ukrainian troops.
What we are showing you is the Ukrainian side,
i.e.
the building on the battle map where we can see the Russian troops massing.
There are no changes to the battle map.
Others.
According to a periodic report of the British Ministry of Defense,
the number of Russian military casualties in Ukraine last year increased by an average of 300 per day compared to 2022,
according to the analysis,
predicted that more than 500,000 casualties will occur in the coming years until 2025.
Compared to the 70,000 casualties in the Afghanistan war over nine years,
Russian forces in the Ukraine war will accumulate casualties at a rate of 500,000 over three years.
That's all for today.
Thanks for watching.
