Our guest today is Sayato Nakata, hailing from Sapporo, Hokkaido. Sayato graduated from Ritsumeikan University in 2015, majoring in International Relations, and then pursued a master's degree in Sociology of Sports from Hitotsubashi University in 2017. After graduating, Sayato joined EY Japan, one of the world's largest consulting firms, as a new graduate. However, Sayato recently made a significant change in their life by leaving the company and moving to Kyoto to join SPORTS X, a sports-related start-up company. Sayato's inspiring journey is aptly captured in the phrase "おこしやす京都" (Welcoming Kyoto).

Motivation and Wants

Sayato's primary motivation is to continuously explore and learn more. His second motivation lies in finding comfort and fulfillment through his ongoing endeavors. Born as a girl, Sayato identifies as an LGBTQ individual. He believes that we should strive to pursue our goals and passions regardless of gender.

Issue of interest

One crucial issue that captures Sayato's attention is LGBTQ rights. It is a global problem that affects many individuals worldwide. As a transgender person himself, Sayato empathizes with the struggles faced by LGBTQ individuals and understands their emotions. Society often categorizes people into binary gender roles, but Sayato firmly believes in accepting and supporting everyone regardless of their gender identity. He encourages institutions and individuals alike to take action and foster an inclusive environment.

Conclusion

Listening to Sayato's presentation made me reflect deeply on the concept of gender. I have transgender friends who may face challenges and discomfort in their lives. It is my sincere hope that we can create a world free from prejudice and discrimination, where everyone feels safe and accepted for who they are. Additionally, I want to extend my support and cheer on Sayato's soccer team!
