ソジュカノの中では珍しい歌モノ楽曲です。

制作イメージ・物語
砂が舞い、霧に覆われた街に、ある女性と男性がいた
女性は酒場で舞う踊り子として働き
男性は酒場に酒を卸す下働きの若者だった。
二人は婚約を交わし、今後の人生のために
結婚に向けて資金を貯めていた。
そんなある日、男は馬車で通りかかった富豪の妻に気に入られ
高給で召使いとしてスカウトされる
酒屋の下働きでは貯金が捗らず、いつまでも一緒になれない歯がゆさから
男は富豪の家で住み込みの召使として働くことを決意する。
女は、男が富豪の家に住み込むことによって、二人で一緒に居られる時間が減ること、そして二人の関係が疎遠になることを恐れ、男を諫める。
しかし、いち早く一緒になりたいと焦っていた男は、「ある一定の期限を設けて、目標の金額まで貯まったら雇い主から暇をもらい戻ってくるから、それまで待っていて欲しい」と約束し、街を出て富豪の家へ旅立った。
女は来る日も酒場で踊り続けた。
泥酔した客から恥辱を味合わされる日や、雇い主から怒鳴られる日もあったが、定期的に届く男からの手紙に書かれた愛の誓いを心に抱いて、待ち続けた。
そして幾月か経った後、男の雇い主である富豪が病死し、
屋敷財産を元妻が相続したという噂が街に届いた。
幾度とやり取りした手紙も男からの返事が届かなくなっていた
不安に駆られ、女は富豪の屋敷へ向かったその先では
男は富豪の元妻と寄り添い、まるで恋人のような振舞で
二人で愛し合う姿を目撃することになる。
門を叩いて男に呼びかけるも、男は正気を失っているかのようだった
かつての精悍で逞しい顔つきは既になく、富貴と肉欲に溺れ堕落した醜態の顔がそこにあった。
街に戻った女は、床に臥し幾日も泣き続けた。
裏切られたことを認めたくなかった。
恐らく、男はもう戻らないだろう。
それでも女は、心のどこかで男が戻ってこないかと期待を抱いたまま
今日も邪で下卑た目つきの客のために踊り続ける
心が揺れたままで。
本EP ”Rusty Desire （錆びた欲望）は、
①SaGiRi feat. konoe
②Hypnagogic Hallucination
③Limitless
以上の3曲で収録されています。
その1曲目を飾ったのが本曲となります。
錆びた欲望。これをどのように形容したらいいか。
果せなかった欲望が時と共に色あせる。そしてやがて錆びて、枯れ朽ちる
本作の果たせなかった欲望は、物語の通り、愛の成就を継続できなかったことと男を富貴と肉欲に奪われたことに対する失念、後悔、憤慨、絶望
これらの想念を歌詞にまとめ、楽曲として仕上げました。
楽曲の作風について
まず、結成当時からソジュカノの楽器編成、音色やリズムの特徴としては
・キックとベースの重厚感のあるStep感(2step,Dubstep）いわゆるBASS DRIVE
・エレクトロ色を演出するシンセリードやパッド
・楽器は2バイオリン 1ビエラ 1チェロ
・1～2のフリューゲルホルンとテナーサックスの混声
・ガットギター・ピアノ
・そしてボーカル・ポエム（主にチョップで細かく刻むことが多い）
これらをビッグバンドでライブ演奏するとしても、クラブＤＪでパフォーマンスするとしても、どっちにでも転べるように、アナログとデジタルの要素を
ちょうどいいバランスでミックスできるような配合でアンサンブルを決定しています。
私の手グセとして、クロマチックにルートを移動することが多いこと
４度の音を好むこと、m7, m9, aug, dim系が好きなこと
短調でスタートすることが多いこと（本作のスタートはDm）
これらの要素が絡みあうことと、私のセンスで
ソジュカノらしいという評価を頂けているのかなと思っています。
音楽関係の友人はソジュカノの音楽を「SPACE JAZZ」だなと揶揄しました。
突き抜けたシンセパッドやシンセFXが好きなんですよね。
あと、ドォォォォォォォンとか シュゥゥゥゥゥゥンとか 笑
これらのインパクトのあるSFXが壮大感や、宇宙感を表現しているようにも
感じられるようで、友人はSPACE JAZZと称したそうです。
私自身は、Jazzとしてあまり考えてなかったんですよ。
Rock,Punk出身で、Jazzはあまり好んで聴かなかったのもあって。
ただ、どちらも黒人発祥の音楽でありますし、
ジャンル、作風、使用楽器、使用エフェクトが異なれど
近しい旋法になっているのは間違いないですね。
ミックスに関して言えば、上述にあるとおり
BASSDRIVEが好きで、ボディーブローのようなキックとベースがないとね。
そのため、ミックスでは、かなり低空を飛ぶようなトビ、鷲のような
或いは、這いまわる蛇などの爬虫類、昆虫
この辺りをイメージして制作しています。
あまり高域主体のシャカシャカが好きじゃないですね。
あと、残響の無いデッドでドライな空間も。
どうしてもディレイやRevで奥行きを作っちゃいます。
高域は、2MIXで倍音をボトムアップさせるぐらいの間隔で
EQを少し持ち上げるくらいにしてます。
シャカシャカよりブンブン ですｗ
文語・口語化できるのはこの辺りかな。
実は、創ってるときはあまり頭で考えてなかったり
多くは振り返った後の考察です 笑
基本、カッコよければＯＫ！な性格ですので、
制作にあたって頭で考えたり、テキストを見ながらやるとか
そういうのもなくて。（勉強は座学の時間でしますよ）
うん。やはりセンスですね。
ライブのパフォーマンスも同じだし、制作も。
歌詞を考える時も、「韻は踏もうね」ぐらいを念頭に置いて
頭に浮かんだ情景を綴って、文節を調整するぐらい。

Production image/story
In a town where sand danced and fog covered the streets, there was a woman and a man. The woman worked as a dancer dancing in a tavern and the man was a young man who worked as a servant to wholesale liquor to the tavern.
They were engaged to be married and were saving up for their wedding for the rest of their lives.Then one day, the man passes by in a carriage, and the wife of a wealthy man takes a liking to him and scouts him out as a servant for a high salary.
The man cannot save money by working as a servant in a liquor store, and he is frustrated that he cannot be with her forever, so he decides to work as a live-in servant in the wealthy man's house. The woman remonstrates with the man, fearing that his moving into the rich man's house will reduce the amount of time they can spend together and that their relationship will grow apart.
However, the man, impatient to be with her as soon as possible, promised that he would set a certain deadline, and when he had saved up to the target amount, his employer would give him some free time to come back, and he would wait until then, and left town and traveled to a wealthy man's house.
The woman continued to dance in the taverns on the days that followed. Some days she was humiliated by drunken customers, and some days she was yelled at by her employer, but she kept waiting with the promise of love written in the letters she regularly received from the man in her heart.
After a few months, a rumor reached the town that the man's employer, a wealthy man, had died of illness and that his ex-wife had inherited his estate. The man's replies to the numerous letters they had exchanged had stopped arriving.
Driven by anxiety, the woman heads for the wealthy man's mansion, where she witnesses the man cuddling with the wealthy man's ex-wife and making love to her, acting as if they were lovers.
She knocked on the gate and called out to the man, but he seemed to have lost his mind, his once strong, fearless face was gone, and there was the face of an abomination, corrupted by wealth and lust.
Back in town, the woman lay on the floor and cried for days. She did not want to admit that she had been betrayed. Perhaps the man would never come back. Still, somewhere in her heart, the woman danced for the evil, vile-eyed customer, hoping that he would come back to her.
She still waited for the man, with her heart still in turmoil.

Rusty Desire. …How can I describe it?
A desire that has not been fulfilled fades with time. And the unfulfilled desire of this work, which eventually rusts, withers, and decays, is, as the story goes, the disappointment, regret, resentment, and despair at not being able to continue the fulfillment of love and at having lost a man to riches and lust, and these thoughts were put together in the lyrics and finished as music.
About the style of music
First of all, the characteristics of SoJuKaNoU's instrumentation, tone, and rhythm since the time of its formation are as follows: -
A heavy sense of Step (2step, Dubstep) with kick and bass, so-called BASS DRIVE, synth leads and pads that produce electro colors,
2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 or 2 mixed instruments of flugelhorn and tenor saxophone, gut guitar, piano, and vocals and poems (often chopped into small pieces). poems (mainly voice sample chopped in detail).
The ensemble is determined by a formula that allows me to mix analog and digital elements in just the right balance so that I can roll either way, whether I'm playing these live in a big band or performing for a club DJ.
I often move the root chromatically, I like the 4th degree, I like m7, m9, aug, and dim, and I often start on a minor key (this track starts in Dm). I think that my sense of music has given me a reputation as a SoJuKaNoU.
My friend said about SoJuKaNoU's music as being "SPACE JAZZ". I love the synth pads and synth FX that are going through the air.
I myself didn't really think of it as Jazz, partly because I came from a Rock and Punk background and didn't really like to listen to Jazz.
However, both of them originated from great black people, and I am sure that their melodies are close to each other despite the differences in genre, style, instruments, and effects used.
As for the mix, as mentioned above, I like BASSDRIVE, and I need a kick and bass like a body blow. Therefore, in my mixes, I try to create images of flying kites, eagles, crawling snakes, reptiles, insects, etc. I don't like high frequency shuffling. I also like dead, dry spaces with no reverberation. I tend to use delay and reverb to create depth.
For high frequencies, I use 2 mixes at intervals enough to bottom out the overtones and lift the EQ 6-8khz little boost.
