祝日でも、国旗をほとんど見なくなった

いつの頃からそうなったのだろう？

私が小学生の頃は、祝日には国旗を取り出してきて、タイトル写真のような玄関先の器具に差し込む家が多かった。
この器具は、壁付け型のぼり立て台（ポールホルダー）という。
住む人のいなくなった家屋には、このような鉄製か真鍮製の器具がそのまま古びて残っていることだろう。

今、町中で祝日に見かける国旗は、バスや電車のそれくらいしかない。

「国旗及び国歌に関する法律」が成立したのは１９９９年だった。今から２４年前のことだ。その当時、学校の卒業式で君が代を歌わせることが論争になり、裁判まで行われた。
最近は皆歌っているのだろうかと思って検索したら、「あの病気」が感染拡大している２０２０年に、是が非でも君が代を歌わせるよう、東京都の教育委員会が、学校に指示したそうだ。危ない連中だ。

都教委は毎年、都立校や区市町村立校から日の丸掲揚や君が代斉唱の「実施状況報告書」を集めている。

今もまだこんな報告を続けさせているなら、その時間をもっとましなことに使うべきだろう。

未だに揉めている「君が代」に対して、国旗については、ほとんどの人が気にしなくなった。

旅行中、昼過ぎに、宿泊先のホテルに向かって歩いていると、従業員が、玄関先に国旗を立てていた。１４時頃になって、ようやく、まだしていないことに気がついたのだろうか？

It is rare to see the national flag in private homes on public holidays.

Since when did this happen?

When I was in elementary school, many families would take out the national flag on holidays and insert it into the fixture at the front door, like the one in the title photo. This device is called a wall-mounted pole holder. In houses where no one lived, iron or brass utensils like this one would probably still remain.

Nowadays, the only national flags you see on holidays are those on buses and trains.

The "National Flag & National Anthemm" was enacted in 1999. That was 24 years ago. At that time, there was controversy over having Kimigayo sung at school graduation ceremonies, which even led to a court case.
I wondered if everyone was singing these days, so I searched for it.
The Tokyo Board of Education has apparently instructed schools to have children sing "Kimigayo" in 2020, when "that disease" is spreading.
They're dangerous people.

Every year, the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education collects "implementation status reports" on hoisting the Japanese flag and singing the "Kimigayo" anthem from metropolitan schools and municipal schools.

If the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education is still issuing reports like this, they should be using that time for better things.

While "Kimigayo" is still controversial, most people no longer care about the national flag.

During my trip, I was walking towards my hotel in the afternoon when I saw an employee planting a national flag in front of the entrance. Did they finally realize at around 2:00 pm that they were not displaying the national flag?
It's peaceful.
