Léctio Isaíae Prophétae.

(Isai. 49, 1-3, 5, 6 et 7)

Audíte ínsulae, et atténdite pópuli de longe:

Dóminus ab útero vocávit me,

de ventre matris meae recordátus est nóminis mei.

Et pósuit os meum quasi gládium acútum:

in umbra manus suae protéxit me,

et pósuit me sicut sagíttam eléctam:

in pháretra sua abscóndit me.

Et dixit mihi: Servus meus es tu, Ísraël, quia in te gloriábor.

Et nunc dicit Dóminus, formans me ex útero servum sibi:

Ecce dedi te in lucem géntium,

ut sis salus mea usque ad extrémum terrae.

Reges vidébunt, et consúrgent príncipes,

et adorábunt propter Dóminum, et sanctum Ísraël, qui elégit te.

Lesson from the book of Isaias

(Isa 49:1-3, 5-7.)

Hear me, O coastlands, listen, O distant peoples.

The Lord called me from birth, from my mother’s womb He gave me my name.

He made of me a sharp-edged sword and concealed me in the shadow of His arm.

He made me a polished arrow, in His quiver He hid me.

You are My servant, He said to me, Israel, through whom I show My glory.

And now says the Lord Who formed me as His servant from the womb,

I will make you a light to the nations,

that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.

When kings shall see you, they shall stand up,

and princes shall prostrate themselves because of the Lord,

the Holy One of Israel Who has chosen you.

島々よ　私に聞け　遠い国々よ　耳を傾けよ

主は母の胎にあるわたしを呼び

母の腹にあるわたしの名を呼ばれた

わたしの口を鋭い剣として御手の陰に置き

わたしを尖らせた矢として矢筒の中に隠して　わたしに言われた

あなたはわたしの僕　

イスラエル　あなたによってわたしの輝きは現れる　と

母の胎にあったわたしを

御自分の僕として形づくられた主はこう言われる

わたしはあなたを国々の光とし

わたしの救いを地の果てまで　もたらす者とする

王たちは見て立ち上がり　君侯はひれ伏す

真実にいますイスラエルの聖なる神

主があなたを選ばれたのを見て
