藤井風『まつり』BTS ー英語書き起こし&解説

はじめに

本日公開になった藤井風さんの『まつり』BTS🏮
今回は風さんの解説がALL英語という、海外ファンをかなり意識した作品に仕上がっていましたね。
風さんの世界進出もいよいよ秒読みでしょうか。

そんな風さんに、これからもしっかりとついて行く為には、我ら日本のファンも英語を身につけて、地球レベルで応援して行きたいですね🌎
苦手意識からついつい遠ざかりがちな方が多いかと思いますが、風さんをきっかけに英語に興味を持ったなら、今からでも遅くはありません👍

まず先に申し上げておきたい事は、風さんの英語は、独学にしてはかなり素晴らしいレベルに到達してはいるものの、ネイティブではないので、文法やボキャブラリーの使い方のミスは所々に見られます。
私は英語講師として、そのミスを指摘する事がありますが、それは決して風さんの英語を否定しているわけではありません🙅‍♀️
私は風さん英語の大ファンの一人ですから😊
英語を学ぶ皆さんには、折角なら正しい英語を理解していただきたいという思いがあります。
勿論、ミスを恐れない、間違えてもモーマンタイ、というのが持論ですが、正しい英語を知る事は大切です。知った上で崩したり、自分流にアレンジしたり、それも英語コミュニテケーションの楽しみの一つです😊
BTS動画には日本人ファンのためにちゃんと日本語字幕も付いていますね。これは、恐らく風さん自身が付けられたものだろうと推察します。
実際に話している英語と若干ニュアンスが違うところもありますが、恐らく日本語字幕が風さんの真意でしょう。
それを読んで、理解した上で、今回は英語を学ぶ目的で、部分的に英文の添削と解説をしていきたいと思います。会話なので、ネイティブであっても文法を無視して話す事はありますので、ここだけは直したい、というところをメインにやっていきます。

書き起こし&解説

なんとなくぼそぼそと単語を発している感じで、区切りながらも長文になってしまっています。

likeとかsoとかは会話の中では繋ぎ言葉のように使われます。少し整理してみます。

添削例: 
Basically, like, so, I wanna be 👉I wanted it to be (ここでは自分ではなく、ビデオの事を言っているのでitを入れます)
more natural and casual than usual videos that I've ever done👉the videos that I’ve done before. (usualは通例の、という意味が強いので、以前の物という意味でbeforeを使う。I’ve done in the pastとかmy previous videosと言っても良い)
but more, 👉but rather(むしろという意味) just be myself and be free and open my heart and just be myself. 👉and open-hearted. (just be myselfをリピートしている)

He made me so relaxed and care-free, 👉feel at ease(care freeというのはお手入れ不要とか気にしなくてもいい、という様な意味で使う事が多い。ここでは肩の力を抜くと言うニュアンスなので、feel at easeが適当)
and the vibes are good all those people in the house are good so,👉 and everyone’s vibes were so good,
like chill vibes, not so stiff or so serious.  👉really chill, not too tense or too serious. (stiffという形容詞は人ではなく物に対して使う)
I'm so thankful for that.

to chillは冷やす、chillyは寒いという意味。
最近は会話で、chillは、クールとか冷静、落ち着いている、という意味でよく使われている。

ここはドキッとした人も多かったのでは😝❓

I love this shooting so I don't want to end,👉I don’t want it to end. (I don’t want to endだと僕は終わりたくない、になってしまう。itはこの撮影にかかる)

shootingはshoot a gun(ピストルを打つ)ように打つという意味だが、撮影するという意味もある。例→shoot a commercial (コマーシャルを撮影する)
また撮影スタッフの事をcrewという。
風さんの文章を少し整理すると、次のように言う事もできる。
I really enjoyed this production, so I don’t want it to end. I’m gonna miss this crew so much. But nevertheless, after this long and crazy day, I know I’ll get a good night’s sleep.

今回のBTSはこれまでの物と比べてかなりサラッとしている印象を受けた。
『まつり』MVの情熱的な演出とは対照的で淡々としている。個人的には、畳の大部屋での情熱的なダンスのシーンなどの裏話や解説などを楽しみにしていたのだが、あっさりと終わってしまってやや拍子抜けしてしまった。やはり広く海外向けに、より分かりやすいシンプルな物に仕上げたのだろうか。文化によって感動するポイントが違うので、アプローチも変わってくるのだろうか。
何はともあれ、風さんの英語はきっとこれからも益々磨きがかかっていくと思うので、我々も置いて行かれないように、しっかりと勉強していきましょう！
