平成31年度発行の日本水道協会による水道料金計算表によると、静岡県の水道料金は全国平均よりだいぶ安いという結果が出ています。（全国平均3241円、静岡県2351円）
平均的な家庭の使用量20㎥で水道料金を計算しています。ちなみに全国の市町村　1345か所のうち、静岡市は147位　2,210円です。水源は安倍川と興津川。この水質が良いから浄化にコストがかからないのでしょう。
静岡の水事情が良いのは自慢できますね。

静岡の地下水

In the past, Sumpu residents drew groundwater from their own wells.
昔、駿府の住民は自分たちの井戸から地下水をくみ上げていました。

According to a historical document, residents could easily access groundwater by digging wells anywhere in Sumpu.
歴史書によると、駿府のどこでも井戸を掘れば簡単に地下水を得ることが出来ました。

Everyone had access to abundant groundwater supply.
みんな豊富な地下水を享受していました。

However, after WW2, water consumption in Shizuoka City sharply increased, threatening the volume of the water source.
しかし戦後、静岡市で水の使用が急激に増え、水源の量を脅かすことになりました。

Such a situation was seen across Shizuoka prefecture, so the government started limiting groundwater pumping for both domestic and commercial use.
そのような状況は静岡県じゅうで見られたので、県は家庭もしくは商業利用で水をポンプでくみ上げることに制限をかけました。

There are some places in Shizuoka City that are permitted to draw groundwater directly from the underground source.
静岡市には許可を取って地下の水源から直接地下水をくみ上げている場所があります。

One such place is located in the Oiwa area of Aoi Ward.
そのような場所の一つが葵区の大岩地区にあります。

Near the Rinzai-ji Temple, there is a privately-owned well open to local people.
臨済寺の近くで、個人所有の井戸が地元の皆さんに開放されています。

Anyone is free to get sweet-tasting groundwater there.
だれでも自由に美味しい味わいの地下水をもらえます。

The water from this well is called 'Takechiyo-no-mizu', meaning Takechiyo's (Tokugawa Ieyasu's infant name) water.
この井戸の水は「たけちよの水」と呼ばれ、徳川家康の幼名である竹千代の水、という意味です。

People can drink the same water drunk by people in the Edo period.
江戸時代の住民が飲んでいた同じ水を飲むことが出来ます。
