Japanese wearing masks habits #2

original

In spite of downgrading covid 19 to lowest level of on its scale for infection diseases, almost Japanese people are wearing masks. I came up with something.

For instance, gathering some people wearing a mask. I ask one of them, why are you wearing a mask? He responds,I wear a mask because some people might be worried about infection. Then I also ask another of them, why are you wearing a mask? She responds, I’m wearing a mask because someone might be worried about infection. Wait. Everyone takes care of others who is worried about infection. However there might be no one worried about infection. It’s really crazy. Eventually I think almost Japanese people stop thinking or only have fears of others eyes.

One of these days, it's the worst when people wearing masks tell people not wearing them that you're selfish.

Despite the downgrade of COVID-19 to the lowest level on the infection disease scale, the majority of Japanese people continue to wear masks. This led me to think of a parable. I gathered a group of people who were wearing masks and asked one of them, "Why are you wearing a mask?" The person responded, "I wear a mask because some people might be worried about infection." I then asked another person the same question, and she responded, "I’m wearing a mask because someone might be worried about infection."

Interestingly, everyone said that they did not want to bother others who were worried about infection, even though there might be no one who actually cares about getting infected. This behavior appears to indicate that many Japanese people have stopped thinking or only fear being judged by others.

It is concerning that some people who wear masks may label those who do not as selfish. This attitude could create unnecessary tension and conflict.
