My Experience with Learning on My iPad

Introduction

This note is for practicing my English writing skills.
ChatGPT assists by reviewing and refining it.
Since I usually study with my iPad, I want to share how I use it for learning.

Apps I Use for Learning on My iPad

Here are the apps I regularly use for studying and practicing on my iPad:

  • GoodNotes: For taking notes, organizing ideas, and solving practice problems.

  • YouTube: For watching educational videos and tutorials.

  • Chrome: For researching topics and accessing online resources.

Practicing Exercises with GoodNotes

I use GoodNotes by importing textbooks and exercises to practice effectively. On my iPad, I utilize the split-view function to display two pages side by side: an exercise page on the left and a note-taking page on the right.

In addition, I sometimes use YouTube or Chrome on one side of the screen while keeping my GoodNotes page open on the other. This allows me to watch educational videos or browse resources while taking notes simultaneously.

What I Like About It

Using a touch pen, I can handwrite easily, which makes it convenient for summarizing texts, organizing ideas, and practicing calculation exercises.

I find it very useful that I can erase, rewrite, copy, and paste text effortlessly. This feature is especially helpful since I’m not very skilled at taking neat notes.

After studying, I usually delete my notes because I don’t have the habit of reviewing them later. For me, keeping memos I won’t revisit feels unnecessary. Moreover, I appreciate that this method is completely paperless, making it both convenient and budget-friendly as I don’t need to buy notebooks.

Using Different Devices Effectively

I use my iPad primarily for practicing problem exercises, especially with a touch pen. When I need to research English word pronunciations, I use a browser on my iPad. However, for tasks like browsing the internet or using ChatGPT, I switch to my PC for a better experience.

My iPad is ideal for handwritten practice, while my PC is more efficient when keyboard typing is necessary. Additionally, I avoid installing email and social media apps on my iPad to eliminate notifications that could disrupt my concentration.
