短編映画制作日記 #10 「小松島へ」 | Production Notes #10 "To Komatsushima"

I went to Tokushima again. We went to Komatsushima City, a city by the sea, a big change from last time. Probably not the kind of city that comes up as a potential location when planning to make a movie. It is a place where small, small happiness and frustration seep in. When I talk to locals, I hear over and over again, "It used to be great". In shopping streets and residential areas that have become completely deserted, I look carefully and pick up the atmosphere of life. He collects the warm atmosphere he finds and the time that has passed. Mr. Miyoshi, the scriptwriter, accompanies us, and we revise the scenario while observing the scenery. Even though the actors were already in place, we continued to work on the story. I realize that the film-making process has begun. To be continued.

再び徳島へ。前回と大きく変更して海沿いの街、小松島市。おそらく、映画を撮ろうと企画する時にロケ地候補の名前があがりそうな街ではない。小さな小さな幸せや悔しさが滲んでいるような場所。地元の話を聞くと「昔はすごかった」と何度も耳にする。すっかり人気が寂しくなった商店街や住宅地で目を凝らして暮らしの空気を拾っていく。そして見つけた温かい空気感や流れてきた時間を採集する。脚本家の三好さんも同行して、風景を見ながらシナリオを修正していく。すでに役者も揃っているのにしつこく物語をつくり続ける。ああ、映画づくりが始まったんだなあと実感している。つづく。
