On August 2, cash and other items in the store were stolen from a fishing pond in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. Even more serious was the mass death of fish; the manager expressed his grief in the face of the death of 3,000 fish.

Manager Yamada of Tsuribori Honpo: "Take good care of them.
I can't say anything about it, because I had raised them for five years. All I can say is, I don't know what to do."

Kazui Yamada, 48, manager of Tsuribori-Honpo in Toki City, shed tears in front of the dead fish, which was found floating in large numbers when he came to the store for business around 9:30 a.m. on April 2.

Manager Yamada: "I came in from there.
"I came in from there, and when I saw it, it was already in this state. Air and stuff had stopped."

The glass at the back entrance was broken, and someone entered the building. The storage room was ransacked, and several thousand yen from the donation box, a hard drive recording security camera footage, and a WiFi router were stolen. However...

Manager Yamada: "The damage there is nothing more than a few thousand yen.
The damage over there is negligible, so compared to the carp, that kind of thing doesn't matter, to put it bluntly. It would be more frustrating if they killed this one, so I don't think we should do this, really..."

About 3,000 Koi, goldfish, and sturgeon, all of which he had carefully nurtured, died.

Perhaps it was to stop the security cameras, but the electric meter wiring was cut and all the equipment, including the "filtering machine" for the fish tanks, was shut down. Oxygen could not be supplied, leading to mass deaths.

Manager Yamada: "We have to be careful not to kill the fish, because they are living things.
I want them to understand that their lives are important because they are living things. As for me, I am an employee, and an employee was killed, so I want him to pay for it."

For the fishing ponds, the summer vacation and Obon season is the perfect time to write. This year, there were no restrictions on behavior, and they were about to welcome many people.

Manager Yamada:.
When the fish are this big, it costs about 5 to 6 million yen just for the fish, at a low estimate. I was in the red at Corona, and now I'm broke, so I don't know what I'm going to do."

Manager Yamada filed a damage report with the Tajimi Police Station. The police are investigating the case as a theft.

The manager cried and complained...3,000 fish died in large numbers at a fishing pond where cash and other items were stolen.

I want the culprit who did this terrible thing to see it.
The manager has spent 5 years raising many fish and taking great care of them.
It is not just a matter of money.
The fish kept in the fish tank are so overcrowded that they quickly run out of oxygen and die. Cutting off the electricity was a really stupid choice.
I hope the culprits are caught and pay for their crimes.
If you have a conscience.
