Is reset a disrespect?
Japan FGC timeline
In Japan FGC twitter timeline, they often argue, discuss, or just whine about something, and people make statements about it.
Yesterday’s topic was about reset.
The topic is mainly about “Doing reset is disrespect to an opponent.”
I don’t want to look out for many so just talk about simple stuff.
My friend created a poll "How do you think about resets?"
https://x.com/KENGALLON/status/1856843670143881271
With 19,860 votes, the results were:
Good: 75.1%
Bad: 3%
Don't care: 19.7%
Other: 2.2%
This seems to represent the general consensus. But let me share my opinion (link to X/Twitter post).
I don't care which character, style, rune, or keystone is used. Once the match begins, I strongly wish them strive to win. As long as it adheres to the rules and is a possible in-game action, anything is fair game.
However—and this is crucial—this statement is potentially dangerous. Some might interpret it as,
"Okay, so it's not illegal, I can use lag switches and try to gain an advantage!"
That is definitely not okay.
List of disrespects
Therefore, I've compiled a list of acceptable and unacceptable practices that made full my personal preference.
