心の揺れ/expansive gray tones
水墨画は、11~13世紀に中国から日本に伝わったと言われています。しかし、その頃すでに日本でも、中国の初期水墨画にあるような、線描による墨絵は、日常的に描かれていた様です。
もっこつ法という、ぼかしによる表現が加わって、水墨画はさらに奥深いものになりました。線描は白と黒をはっきりと分けて綺麗であり、もっこつ法は曖昧で無限を思わせるグレーのトーンの広がりが美しいのです。
それは人が人生を想う時の心の揺れと、おなじなのでしょう。
Ink painting is said to have been introduced to Japan from China in the 11th to 13th century. However, at that time, line-based ink paintings similar to those seen in early Chinese ink paintings were already being painted on a daily basis in Japan.
Ink painting became even more profound with the addition of the Mokkotsu method of expression through shading. The line drawings are beautiful with a clear separation between black and white, and the mokkotsu method is beautiful with its ambiguous, expansive gray tones that make you think of infinity.
It's probably the same as the trembling in a person's heart when thinking about life.
