韻の種類
細かい種類はいくつもありますが，表立ったものは以下の5種類です．
1. Perfect rhymes (完全韻)
母音と最後の子音が同じ．(e.g. “lean” and “mean”).
2. Family rhymes (家族韻)
破裂音、摩擦音、鼻音に類する母音または子音を含む． (e.g. “crate” and “braid”).
3. Additive and subtractive rhymes (加法韻 or 減法韻)
母音は同数で子音の数に増減がある ．(e.g. “eve” and “believe”).
4. Assonance rhymes (同音韻)
母音は同じで子音が異なる ．(e.g. “had” and “glass”).
5. Consonance rhymes (子音韻)
子音は同じで母音が異なる．Assonance rhymes (同音韻)の逆． (e.g. “scene” and “when”).
