　「Everything : Playing Work Solo From Across His Carrier」と題したトム・ヨークのソロ・ツアー、東京初日の11月15日立川ステージガーデン公演と翌16日渋谷LINE CUBE SHIBUYA公演を見た。どちらも事前の期待をはるかに上回る素晴らしいライヴだった。ここでは主に15日立川公演について述べる。

　バンドもバックアップミュージシャンもマニュピレーターもいない完全単独のライヴ。ひとりでギター、ベース、キーボード、3台のシンセサイザー、モジュラーシンセ、リズム・マシーンなどをあちこち移動しながら目まぐるしく演奏する。リズムにあわせ激しくカラダを揺さぶり、演奏しない時はステージの前に出てきてくねくねと踊りながら歌う。

I saw Thom Yorke's solo tour titled ``Everything: Playing Work Solo From Across His Carrier'', the first performance in Tokyo at Tachikawa Stage Garden on November 15th, and the Shibuya LINE CUBE SHIBUYA performance on the 16th. It was a wonderful live show that far exceeded my expectations. Here, I mainly thought about the Tachikawa performance on the 15th.

A completely solo live performance with no band, backup musicians, or manipulators. He moves around and plays a guitar, bass, keyboard, three synthesizers, modular synth, rhythm machine, etc. by himself. When they are not performing, they come out to the front of the stage and sing while dancing.


「Hearing Damage」では長いシンセのソロも披露する。この手の打ち込みを使ったワンマン・ライヴでありがちな、ミュージシャンがラップトップの前にへばりついて離れないような頭でっかちのクールで自閉的なイメージはまるでない。機械を使っていてもそれはあくまでも彼の肉体の延長上にあるものであり、リズム・マシーンのビートは彼の心臓の鼓動なのだ。ソロ・ライヴではあるが、まるでバンドが演奏しているかのようなフィジカルな躍動感があった。
