ニュージーランド（NZ）人の父親と日本人の母親との間に生まれ、9歳まで主にNZで暮らした。ネーティブな英語力を武器にした仕事に意欲を見せる。夢は、NZのラグビー代表チーム「オールブラックス」を取材することだ。「NZではラグビーが身近な存在で、帰国後に過ごした大阪では花園に足を運んでいました」。大学進学で上京後も毎週のように観戦し、帰宅後も映像で見返すほどのラグビーファンだ。
