コルネットを手にして半年くらいが経った頃、世界的トランペット奏者のアンドレ・アンリさんが僕が住む街にコンサートをしにやって来たんです。その公演を観て「自分が持っている楽器と似た楽器からこんな音楽が奏でられるなんて！」と感動しました。実は僕、その頃から将来の仕事や自分が何になるんだろうということについてよく考えていたこともあって、「この人のような仕事をする人になりたい！」と強く思ったのがキッカケです。そこからトランペットが大好きになって、YouTubeをどんどん掘ったり真似してみたりのめり込んでいきました。

About six months after I picked up the cornet, I went to a concert in the town where Andre Henry, a world-renowned trumpet player, lived. When I saw the performance, I was moved and thought, ``I couldn't believe that such music could be played using an instrument similar to the one I own!''

　今、日本の若手チェリストは黄金時代だ。岡本侑也、笹沼樹、佐藤晴真ら有名コンクールの覇者も続々出ている。2021年、25歳で日本人として初めてジュネーヴ国際コンクールのチェロ部門で優勝した上野通明も注目の逸材。超絶技巧もごく自然に聞こえてしまう驚異的な技術と、伸びやかな音楽性、表情豊かな美音は、聴き手をひきつけて離さない。

We are currently in a golden age for young Japanese cellists. There are also winners of famous competitions such as Yuya Okamoto, Itsuki Sasanuma, and Haruma Sato. Michiaki Ueno, who became the first Japanese to win the cello section of the Geneva International Competition in 2021 at the age of 25, is also a talented talent.
