本作は、科学警察研究所の法医第九研究室、通称“第九”を舞台に、死者の生前記憶を映像で再現できる特殊なMRI技術を用いて、解決不可能とされていた事件の真相を解き明かしていくヒューマンサスペンス。凶悪・重大犯罪において、被害者および犯人死亡の際、その脳を特殊なMRIスキャナーにかけ、生前の記憶を映像化する「MRI捜査」を行う。

This work is set in the Ninth Forensic Laboratory of the National Police Research Institute, commonly known as the Ninth, and uses special MRI technology that can reproduce the deceased's memories before they were alive as images to solve a case that was considered unsolvable. Human caution continues to uncover the truth. When a violent or serious crime occurs, the victim or the perpetrator dies, we conduct a ``MRI investigation'' that uses a special MRI to examine the brain of the victim and visualize their memories from when they were alive.
