【Let's play Fukuwarai and Hyakunin isshu/ 福笑いと百人一首で遊ぼう！】

In the January class, we will try to play Japanese traditional New year's games.
あけましておめでとうございます。
2023年1月のおだんごでは、日本のお正月遊びをやってみたいと思います！
☆English Class: Fukuwarai
☆英語クラス：福笑い
Fukuwarai is a face-making game. It’s one of the most famous New Year’s Day games.
First, you prepare a piece of paper that has only the shape of a face.
Then, someone with a blindfold will put the parts of the face such as eyebrows, eyes, a mouth, a nose, on the paper.
In general, this is not a game to make a winner, but a game to make people laugh.

It is said this game comes from the proverb "笑う門には福来る" (Fortune comes in by a merry gate.)

☆Japanese class: Hyakunin isshu
☆日本語クラス：百人一首
Hyakunin Isshu is a traditional card game that is very popular throughout Japan.
The verses and poems used in this game are all waka poems (short verse) written by an ensemble of 100 individual poets whose poems were collected by Fujiwara no Teika in the early Kamakura period.

We will play the Japanese card game, Hyakunin Isshu "Karuta" in an easy way for beginners. At least, you can read Hiragana, we can play together!
