バイデン大統領が、6月19日奴隷解放の日を祝日にすることにしたそうです。未だに人種問題など根深いですが・・・・。

Dear Pre-K Families,

What a wonderful week of celebrating our moving up ceremonies with our students. I am so proud of how far they have all come since September both virtually and in person! The Pre-K center staff wishes a very happy Father’s Day too all of our fathers, grandfathers and those who have served as role models to our children, thank you!

I would like to acknowledge yesterday, President Biden signed a bill establishing June 19 as Juneteenth National Independence day. It is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is now the 11th federal holiday. Juneteenth commemorates a declaration of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas in 1865, and each year it serves both as a celebration of freedom and an opportunity to recommit to the fight for racial justice in all aspects of American life. We join in honoring Black Americans who have fought for a more just and equal society throughout our history and reflecting on how we can best continue their work.

Parent school surveys are due today! Parents, I would love if you could please fill out the survey today if you haven’t. Our staff has worked so hard this year to make our school such a success. These surveys go out to the public and is a reflection on our program. It is through parent voice that we have families wanting to register for us each year.
