アメリカ人はまだ中世時代のように生きているらしい。そこでは魂の質が血統で決まると信じられている。血ではないが、道徳、文化、精神的側面ではそうだ。したがって良く育った人間は良く行動し、良い考えを持つと常に良い人間だと思われる。悪しくしていたり、あるいは悪しく生まれた人間は地獄で罰を受けるに値すると思われる事になる。
この非常なヤンキーなアメリカ的な考え方にかなりいらだちを感じながら、笑っていた」:

Apparently they still live in medieval age where they believe the qualities of souls are determined by your linage. maybe not by blood, but in morality, culture and spirit. Thus people who were bred good, do good, and think good are always good.
And those we did bad or born from bad deserves damnations in hell.
I was quite annoyed but amused by this very Yankee Americanism:)
