The secret is so shameful or shocking that if it were made public, it would ruin the person's life. Over time, Pietro's status as a writer grew, and the family settled into a comfortable bourgeois life. However, he is haunted by the possibility that Teresa may one day reappear and tear his world apart with the secrets she knows.🪔
