Foreword
Social VR is currently attracting significant attention as a new living space – “metaverse” – amongst human beings in virtual reality (VR). The number of users has increased rapidly due to COVID-19. However, little is known about their virtual lives due to the anonymous nature. In this report, we analyzed 1,200 answers to a large-scale worldwide study to visualize the lifestyle of VR users. This report does not only present utilization trends, but also sheds light on the different aspects of VR users’ unique lifestyles, such as VR love and phantom sense (VR senses). The culture of VR has just begun and is constantly evolving. We believe that its definition and reality will continue to change. This report is only a brief introduction to an ever-evolving universe. We hope that it is a stepping stone to understanding the intricacies of the new era that is about to begin and engage discussions for a better future.
