Does GORPO want to drive users away?

I opened up the desktop GOPRO Quick app yesterday only to find this message on top of the screen…Whaaaaatt!! Gopro is discontinuing its desktop version of Quick app at the end of this year?  "More info" tells that it is shifting its focus on mobile (smart phone) experiences…."  Shocked, I searched online comments about this decision…There is no positive feedback I can find online.  It is as of Gopro is trying to repel its customers to its Chinese rivals!  I've been favored Gopro because its usability and the convenience of its desktop app to download and with the new. 2024 HERO 4K to stabilize videos on the app (though the extra step is quite a pain in the ass!).  I've tried its iPhone version of Quick app to download vedios…every time I do this, it only returns "Something went wrong…". It sucks.
The new. HERO camera, while offering a low-priced and easy to operate option, its lack of on-camera stabilizer function is a serious turn-off.  now this app moving to "smart phone only (plus wifi connection only.  I physically connected with USB-C wires but did not worked) is pushing my heart rates up.  If Gopro ever cares about its customers, you may want to keep choices - otherwise apparent cash-craving sales strategy risks making yourself appear as if a "jerk."  I do wish you maintain the good reliability.   Then, I can come back to buy my next Gopro camera when my 2024 HERO 4K becomes ware and tear.  Or should I search action cams of other manufactures?
