[18trip] う-40α 甘辛苦 新刊あります Day2 Seasonal Event (Maxed)
➼ u-40α Amakaraku NEW RELEASE!「Event SR Max / Event Title 」 - 5,628,744 points
This is a personal diary of an Ushio oshi who attempted to max out all the event rewards in the middle of a trip. This is also my first time grinding an 18trip event.

Preparation
I was already on my trip when the Day2 Seasonal Event got announced so what I could do to prepare was limited. Not pulling from the SR stage cards was worth it since I managed to save up enough dias for this event. I thought Ushio was going to be the SSR since it’s a Patibato doujinshi event, but the devs decided to make him the event reward. I was like, “Oh fuck. I want that special Ushio title.. it's his first one” so I decided to max all the rewards. I already have all the mayor novels unlocked, but I haven’t opened around 50+ chapters. Each novel chapter was 10 dias so my dia count jumped from 3.4k to 4.1k.
I’m a Nanaki x Ushio shipper, so of course I wanted Nanaki’s Reito SR card. I decided to pull for gacha and luckily got Kiroku at my 2nd 10th pull. I couldn’t take a picture of my first pull but I had 3 copies of Muneuji, 1 copy of Nanaki, and 1 copy of Kiroku which gave me 32% event bonus.
Process
Day 0: Kickstart
I bought the Fast Pass for 25 paid dias because I've seen people highly recommending them (Shoutout to this person: https://t.co/uCTsxBWovH) . I’ll explain more about this near the end of this blog (Useful Tips Section), but basically, Fast Pass lets you do 5-10AP manually in Town maps instead of the usual 3AP / 4AP. The fast pass also halves your autotime, so for example: 1 hour wait for 10AP becomes 30 minutes for 10 AP.
I was grinding while hiding my phone under my bed. This is bc I'm sleeping with other ppl in the room which was also a hurdle. I couldn't really engage or read anything seriously but thank you Tenga for the eitori talk. Ushio Kurama is so interesting. I slept for 6 hours after this
Day 1
I woke up around 7:30am and grinded this game in between the locations we went to. If I didn’t have a fast pass or if this game didn't have auto mode, grinding would be impossible.
While I was in the vehicle, the ppl from Tenga were explaing and dumbing down the mechanics of this game to me because I'm stupid and I'm especially bad at remembering terms or names. Thank you guys for being patient with me 😭
I learned that the expensive ones can attack multiple people, the cheaper ones can attack one. All the characters on the floor are short range, all the characters on the side are long range. Then there's the healer. That basically sums up what I learned.
Guides are the most useful coz they're cheap and easy to deploy. I abused Oomf 1's Kafka as a result.
I also figured out that this is my most efficient Yukikaze AP4 Stage setup. Omotenashi Unison is a huge time waster btw. Yukikaze Stage only gives me 40 Kizuna unlike Kinari (30 Kizuma) but I really couldnt care less about the difference since event points were my priority.
For Yukikaze’s stage, I placed SSR Gacha Kiroku right where the VIP guest spawns to shorten the time of this stage. I kinda just winged the rest.
And then my head started hurting real bad around 2pm and I think it was because waking up at 7:30am had always been torturous to me. My body seriously can’t handle waking up during the day so it started giving up on its own. I was out from 8am-7:30pm.
Day 2 (ha)
Unexpected rest day. I slept for 13 hours I think. I was supposed to go outside but we didn’t go.
I decided to try the setup that this top ranker had: https://note.com/115_0615/n/n7db2ecaf0be9?sub_rt=share_b
I compared the time and difference between my go-to Town stage and the Top 1 ranker's go-to Town stage.
I found the top-ranker's setup more efficient and quicker to setup coz I could just leave the alone once I placed 3 characters in this specific position. The note used 2 guides, 1 performer. I used 1 guide, 1 omotenashist and 1 performer (aka long range / multi attacker). I think as long as you use a performer, it’ll work out. I didn’t wanna remove anyone from my team so i worked with what i have. I borrowed Guide SSRs from my friendlist.
It’s the most efficient but Yukikaze’s AP4 stage gives more kizuna (40) than Kinari’s AP3 (30) so I did Yukikaze stage when I was stuck outside and Kinari stage when I was doing nothing.
Day 3
It’s New Year’s eve. Of course I had to grind during a family function that I was stuck at for 6-7 hours. I ended up doing most of the grind there lol. Nothing too crazy happened.
Day 4
There was seriously nothing worth taking note of for this day. I went outside around the afternoon so most of the grind I did was during the morning.
I’m guesstimating that 3mil points will take 800 or 900 dias with the bonus I have. I've never gotten 3mil on any event before though. If Ushio gets a Feature SSR, that will be my first time. Anyways, I got this text that told me that mobile data was dying bc I was heavily relying on it outside lol (Spoilers: It never died on me, thankfully.)
Day 5
Nothing big happened again for today but I was out from 10am to 8:30pm. I did stuff that made me unable to sit and continously grind. I was going to go for 4mil this day but I wanted to keep my dia count even (3,000 end dia count for this day).
Day 6
I was outside from 7am to 1am this time. The planes I rode didnt have any powerport so my phone died. There’s no wifi on the plane that’s why I did my grinding in advance but I bought wifi access on the plane to grind and read Day2 mainstory along the way. The signal was kinda horrid and I ended up falling asleep halfway so fuck.
I also ended up cleaning up for hours when I got home and fell asleep in the middle of playing. I couldnt do any grinding coz I was tired that's why I only got to grind 200k instead of my usual 600k-700k ☠️
Day 7
I slacked off yesterday so I had to carch up hard. Bedrotted the entire day. I also found out that when you do the event stages 18 times, you get 5 shuumai. I also started seriously grinding another game that I play (Hello Kitty Dream Village) bc there's a limited bag there that ends at the same day as the Ushio event. Why do I torture myself.
Also I figured it out real late that the event points you get per difficulty in the Event Stage is different. I’ve been doing easy 100x or 200x this whole time so that was a huge mistake. The gap is only like 500 (base) from Easy to Very Hard so my loss wasn’t too huge.
Day 8
My dumbass fell asleep again mid-grind so I thought I should grind for this much early. I got Ushio around 4pm EST (Like 15 hours before event ends) and I started typing this blog out.
I clearly overshot by 100k+ points bc I was worried I would fall asleep before I get Ushio’s badge. I think my spendings would be 100 dias lower if it weren’t for that
Things I learned for future grinding
Get the Fast Pass if you're tiering
If you’re going to tier or max any rewards, or if you’re going for a single Feature Event SSR, this pass is really worth it to get coz it’ll make the grinding process faster. The 480 yen dia pack is enough to purchase this pass. You're not going to lose anything by not getting the Fast Pass, it just means you'll have to do more work and wait longer for Auto to finish. 18trip is generous with their pass and auto system, unlike Project Sekai that halves your points and rewards.
The way Fast Pass works is it's only applicable in Town (manual). You can choose whatever stage, I'll use Kinari 3AP Stage as an example. You will have an option to use how many AP should you add from 3AP, but you can only do 10AP Max.
23,760 per 10bp in 3AP town. (AP 3+7) <- Kinari Stage (3AP)
23,760 per 10bp in 4AP town. (AP 4+6) <- Yukikaze Stage (4AP)
The event point is the same because I used 10AP for both of them.
I decided to play around and see if Fast Pass gives you any penalties so I did the stages without any additional AP:
2x Kinari stage (3AP) = 14,256pts for 6AP
1x Yukikaze stage (4AP) = 9,504pts for 4AP
= 23,760 per 10AP
Even if you do these stages with no Fast Pass (3+3+4 vs. 10), it gives the same amount as the Fast Pass. There is no difference, which makes Fast Pass really worth it to get since you’re not losing any event points or bonus. The Fast Pass lessened the work I had to do by 3x.
Another thing the fast pass does is it also halves your autotime, so for example: 1 hour wait for 10AP becomes 30 minutes for 10 AP. I found this useful since I was often outside going to various places. This feature may be less useful for high-tiering, where you have to grind as much as you can.
The downside of a Fast Pass is your Kizuna only increases by the amount of AP you’re supposed to use in a Town Stage. This means that even if you spend 10AP in Kinari’s 3AP Stage, your gained kizuna won’t become 100. You’re still going to get 30 Kizuna per card in your team if you do Kinari’s Stage. This wasn't a huge deal breaker to me since I was busy and I’d rather get things done fast. I've also maxed out the kizuna for almost all my cards. I would say if you care about Kizuna grind, don't get the fast pass. Get it if you want to climb the ladder faster.
Do Hard or Very Hard for maximum event point efficiency
For some reason, I assumed every Event stage gives the same amount of points no matter the difficulty. This is the case for Town stages but NOT for event stages. I only realized this at the last day of the event. The hardest stage gives the most amount of event points as seen here:
This is a personal opinion but only do 20-30 pulls on Event Gacha for bonus if you're maxing a Seasonal event)
Is the bonus really worth it? If you have spare dias, then yes. I would say stop pulling when you hit 20 pulls and just go with whatever bonus you got. SRs and Rs give out bonus too. I initially asked in an 18trip-based discord server about how much is it going to take me to max an event SR and they said it’s around 2.1k-2.7k. I spent a net total of 2,261 dias including gacha. If I spent 30 pulls and didn't get shit on my 3rd 10x pull, it would be 300 dias wasted which is too much for me.
I think spending too much on gacha rewards when you're only earning for 5mil isn't worth it. I don't have the brains to graph out to prove this I need someone to make an 18trip calculator website.
Lastly, if this isn't obvious yet, don't click the Omotenashi Unison button to save time. It's a huge time waster
Reflection
It's ironic that the only time I'm occupied is the time they dropped this event. I was on a trip from event announcement til the near of the end of the event. And it also just happened that the nui I decided to bring with me was Ushio.
It’s actually not hard to grind a seasonal event? I thought it would be more torturous. If I grind 3mil for a future Ushio Feature SSR, I think it wouldn't be too bad. I think I spent 1-3 hours per day if I exclude all the breaks I took. This didn't feel like a chore to me and I got to do my other stuff outside this game. However, grinding can be expensive in terms of dias.
I've tiered in proseka before and sat for 17 hours with only 30 mins of breaks at some point. Tiering there feels like a prison.
You know, I thought this patibato event would tackle the fact that Patibato manga went on hiatus (end of Ushio's novel) but a fuyu comiket doujinshi event at New Year's is such a crazy move. I love it here. I only have a brief clue on how the event story went like yet I found it fun. Can't talk about the crazy bomb they dropped there cuz it's heavy spoiler. Ushio is such a fun character you will never get bored at. He finally started respecting Kiroku too which is a plus! I want to sit down and be able to read it someday but I still haven't finished Day2 Side B as I'm typing this (1/6/24), it's bc I'm using my brain while reading which means it takes me longer ughhh.
This event is sort of like a practice to me once I do higher level grinding someday. My current short-term goal is to get Ushio to Rank 4 (90k kizuna). My long-term goal in this game is to max Ushio’s Feature Event SSR and maybe even tier, who knows. I'm doing this almost F2P though. This is quite literally impossible for me at the moment but I can dream. I like keeping track of my progress this way so I made this blog. Yay! More Ushio content to come.
