When it comes to autumn foliage on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, the view from the ropeway between Daikanbo and Kurobe Lake is probably the best.

The autumn foliage on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is quite unique. It begins in September at the higher elevations, like Murodo, and gradually moves down to the lower areas.
At Kurobadaira, the autumn leaves were beautiful, and I even spotted some fall flowers blooming. After seeing the "Beware of Bears!" sign, I got my bear bell ready and took a short walk.
The Kurobe Cable Car, which connects Kurobadaira to Kurobe Lake, has a retro feel that really adds to the experience.
