Geishas from all over Japan will gather to showcase their specialty dances, with a host providing easy-to-understand explanations.

Part 2: NEO Dance Drama "NAGOYA HAIKARA CIRCUS"
Set in the 1930s amidst the Great Depression, the story follows Shigeru (Takumi Honda), Takeshi (Takumi Sato), and Onjiro (Nagoya Yamasaburo), disciples of the kabuki master Goshinzaki Goro (Nishikawa Chikamasa), who have moved to the bustling city of Nagoya during a time of economic prosperity.

Onjiro gathers a circus troupe consisting of a mute couple (Kuraichi Kanae, Yamada Shigeki) and a brother-sister taiko drumming duo (Kamiya Shunichiro, Fukushima Ayana) who have no place in society.

However, the sound of war approaches Nagoya. Takeshi is drafted and placed under the command of the fierce military officer Miyafuji (Masao Teshima). Meanwhile, Shigeru inherits the Owari Sanga-ryu dance school and forms a performance troupe for the troops, along with veteran geishas Teikichi (Nishikawa Masako) and Ozome (Nishikawa Yoko).

Onjiro tries to protect the circus troupe by enlisting the help of the textile magnate Shiigakuin Makoto (Kazuki Kanade). Along the way, they meet Viola (Sumire), a Japanese-American who sings beautifully but cannot speak Japanese…

A musical filled with laughter and emotion, blending reality and fiction in the Nagoya Odori style!

What is NEO Dance Drama?
This unique performance combines LED screens with live stage acting, creating a new form of artistic expression. The production features a wide variety of music, from traditional Japanese instruments like the shamisen, taiko, and nagauta, to live orchestral music and thrilling dance beats. It’s a mix of theater, singing, and dancing, with performances by Nishikawa-ryu Japanese dancers as well as guest appearances by famous actors, musical theater performers, singers, contemporary dancers, taiko drummers, and stunt performers. Even without explanations, the show is designed to be enjoyable for all audiences.
