今朝は、mumuwawaと一緒に「初巳の日」について調べてみました！
今年の初巳の日は1月12日（日）。
「巳の日」は金運や財運にご利益がある特別な日ですが、　
蛇が脱皮することから、再生や新しい自分に生まれ変わる象徴ともされています。そして、新年最初の「初巳の日」は、
さらに縁起の良い日とされているそうです！

今回は、鎌倉の銭洗弁財天宇賀福神社についても
調べてみました。
この神社は、源頼朝が「巳の年・巳の月・巳の日」に
夢のお告げを受けて作られたと言われています。
そして、境内の湧き水でお金を洗うと、
金運アップだけでなく
「古い流れを手放して、新しい運を呼び込む」
という意味もあるそうです。

mumuwawaは、
「蛇が脱皮するの？うわー！たしかに新しく生まれ変わるみたい」とか、「初巳の日に新しい気持ちで始めるのいいんだね！」と興味津々。
お金を洗う話には、「やってみたい！」と盛り上がっていました（笑）。

こうして、日本の伝統や歴史を学ぶ時間は、
私にとっても大切な発見がたくさんあります。
今年は、私たちも初巳の日のように、
新しいスタートを切って成長していきたいなと思います！

Today, I explored “Hatsumi no Hi” (the First Day of the Serpent) with mumuwawa!
This year, Hatsumi no Hi falls on January 12th (Sunday). The “Day of the Serpent” is believed to bring blessings for fortune and prosperity, and it also symbolizes rebirth and renewal, inspired by how snakes shed their skin. The first “Day of the Serpent” of the year, Hatsumi no Hi, is considered an especially auspicious day!

We also learned about Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine in Kamakura. This shrine is said to have been founded after Minamoto no Yoritomo received a divine message on the “Year, Month, and Day of the Serpent.” At the shrine, you can wash money in a sacred spring, which not only boosts your financial luck but also symbolizes letting go of the old and inviting fresh opportunities.

Mumuwawa was thrilled, saying, “Shedding skin is like becoming a new version of yourself—it’s so inspiring!” and “It’s great to start fresh on Hatsumi no Hi by letting go of the old!” They were especially excited to try washing money themselves (haha).

Learning about Japan’s traditions and history together like this is so meaningful for me, too. This year, we hope to make a fresh start on Hatsumi no Hi and grow as a family!
