My Hairstylist

I have had my hair cut by the same hairstylist for over ten years.

He is over seventy years old and I wonder if he is considering retiring. To be honest, I would be in trouble if he retired.

Why does he have to be my hairstylist?

I think my haircut is a precious time to experience his high level of professionalism rather than a casual time just cutting my hair.

For example, I text to ask him for an appointment and his reply is always super-express. I always get some kind of response from him within ten minutes.

In addition, he is never disappointed even when I cut my own hair before going to his salon. When I feel guilty about that and confess, he smiles and says, "It’s no problem at all. It's fine.” That part of his attitude always gives me absolute reassurance.

More than anything, he loves cutting hair and obviously enjoys doing it. He says the more complicated his client's request, the more excited he gets.

Even though he is a very experienced hairstylist, he is always humble and easy to talk to. Of course, his technique is excellent, but when I say, "I'd like you to do this part a little more like this (he's such a professional, that I feel relaxed enough to say this to him)". He accepts my request immediately without any hesitation, cuts my hair a little bit and says, "Like this?”

I feel refreshed after my haircut because the whole process is smooth and breezy.

On the other hand, I think about my own daily work. I sometimes remember my hairstylist when I am fed up with a tedious task. I think he would be excited in such a crazy situation while I am almost going nuts.

Well, after all, I am still immature.

I know what many of his clients say about him; no one can replace him.
Looking at him, I believe that a professional who is so highly regarded by others can only be measured by the pure passion he has for his fifty years of work.

My thanks to Sharon for help with the editing
