和訳：Seize The Day
SixTONESのアルバム『THE VIBES』の和訳をシェアしてみよ！という企画の第2弾です。第1弾では『Something from Nothing』を取り上げたので、お時間がありましたら、そちらもぜひ御覧ください。
Seize the Dayと言えば、『Dead Poet Society （邦題『今を生きる』）』に出てくる有名なセリフが思い浮かびますね。元々はラテン語のことわざ carpe diemの英訳なんですが、こっちを日本語に直訳すると「収穫はその日のうちに」というような意味です。日本のことわざで近いのは「善は急げ」とか「鉄は熱いうちに打て」あたりかもしれませんが、個人的には「推しは推せるうちに推せ」のニュアンスかな、と思います。
その辺りの言葉の背景も踏まえて、行ってみましょー。

ちょっと前置詞が行方不明で英語として解釈しづらいところがあったりもするので、そういう部分は雰囲気で訳してあります。
前回訳したSomething from Nothingと通じる部分もあるような……？
「向かい風を受けて」という部分を少し補足すると、飛行機やスキージャンプなどは、向かい風の方が揚力が生まれて高く飛べるんです。日本語のイメージだと「逆境」という意味になりがちですが、あまりネガティブな意味はないと思います。
