Freelance Jobs That Pay Very Well
According to the Freelancer's Union, by the year 2027, over 50% of US workers will be "freelancers": those who work for different companies, rather than working as an employee for one company. If you're considering becoming a freelancer, here are some jobs that pay very well.
Digital marketer
A digital marketer helps companies reach more customers through social media, email marketing and online ads. More and more companies have full-time digital marketers, but there are still many freelance opportunities. While most freelance digital marketers earn about $68,000, the best make over $117,000 per year.
Sommelier
Pronounced "som-mall-yay," a sommelier is someone who helps customers decide which wine to choose. To become certified, a sommelier must spend years studying and tasting wine. If you can pass the "advanced" certification course, you could earn about $87,000 per year working at different restaurants or as a personal sommelier for private events.
Golf ball diver
If you like scuba diving and searching for lost items, this may be the perfect job for you! Golf ball divers dive into ponds and lakes on golf courses and collect lost golf balls. Bags of golf balls can weigh over 30 kilograms, so divers have to be strong. They may also have to deal with dangerous animals. But a good diver can collect about 3,000 balls a day and sell them for about $1 each. One diver in Florida says he made $15 million in 14 years!
