Dorayaki (Japanese sweet)

I had a Dirayaki in the morning.

Dorayaki

Not many people eat dorayaki in the morning, but I was hungry and ate it.

Dorayaki

Dorayaki is a traditional Japanese sweet consisting of two small pancake-like sponge cakes with a sweet filling in between.

Inside the dorayaki is anko (red bean paste).

The filling is usually made of sweetened red bean paste (anko), but it can also include custard, cream, or fruits. The shape is round, resembling a small sandwich.

I like dorayaki with red bean paste and chestnuts, but the one I had today did not contain chestnuts. The price is a little higher when chestnuts are added.

I was happy eating dorayaki.
