Tasmania in Australia
Have been looking for somewhere we can relax yet my 4 year-old daughter can enjoy. We found Tasmania in Australia as one of the best places in the world (among where we know so far ☺ )
Surrounded by untouched lots of nature, there is only the silence besides the sound we create especially after we back to our beloved independent cottage. 4 year-old daughter can enjoy a lot with rare animals which we can't see often where we live in Singapore nor in Japan.
Here is our note of journey from Singapore over to Tasmania and it would be my pleasure if anyone can refer for their future plans.
Before begin with Tasmania, there is a small story to be shared ('Д')
Originally we have booked to go to Kangaroo island for a week in the beg of February 2020, I have booked it in Oct 2019, but unfortunately we got the news from the accommodation in Kangaroo island that their building was burnt down due to the unprecedented bush fire in January... OMG('Д')... we were forced to plan again..
After the long negotiation with Qnatas airline, we finally decided to change the destination to Tasmania and postpone the dates to March hoping the bushfire will be settled. however, new concern comes then, as everyone knows the new virus started attacking the world from the end of January... OMG agan... we were very concerned whether we could go or not because of the regulations issued by the government of both Singapore and Australia, the situation was changing day by day... But finally we could go and I believe God guided us to go to Tasmania since we all fell in love there :-)
Here is the cottage we stayed. The owner run the farm and the cottage is located in the farm where you can find sheep, horses, dogs and chickens. $550 for 3 nights. I think this is quite reasonable. Much better than staying in the hotel in the city.
My daughter is really satisfied with playing with them! the dogs are wise enough to catch sticks or balls thrown by my daughter, they are sheep dogs.
Here is our itinerary
7th Mar : Departed Singapore at 19:40
8th Mar : Arrived at Melbourne at 6:00 am, departed Melbourne at 8:15 and arrived at Tasmania at 9:30 am
Day 1
What we did first thing was to arrange the rental car we have booked in advance, however... unfortunately I could understand only 30-50% of what they said lol... accent is so different from Singapore, I know Singapore is SInglish but it is at least English, but..., anyway I asked him to repeat again and again for the part where I thought important like insurance etc.. this is the car we borrowed from "EUROPCAR". Very comfortable, $290 for 4 days. the website "Vroom" is quite useful we can compare the price of each company
Day 1
Walking around Hobart Market, it opens only on Sunday. Everything looks soooo fresh !! We bought some vegetable, Pizza, bread and a bottle of wine. All are so nice like served at restaurants !
Thereafter, we went to the "Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary". Lots of unwalled Kangaroos !!!
We checked-in after having so yummy lunch at the restaurant named Ashmore in Richmond. https://www.ashmoreonbridge.com.au/
What we did was just let ourselves relax and go with the flow having beer and wine 🍻 while daughter enjoyed with animals.
Day 2
Slept until 9 am and walked around to explore the farm, and found what animals were there.
11:30 am, departed to another zoo named "ZooDoo" in Richmond area. Everything is so natural but organized somehow.
Went back to the cottage around 4 pm and just spent relaxing time there without doing anything, just was playing around with dogs there, the most luxurious time in these recent days.
Day 3
Found there was a Peter Rabbit Garden nearby Richmond and famous chocolate shop named "Coal River Farm" , took lunch at a restaurant beside "Coal River Farm" and it was also soooo nice! Cheese and vegetables are so fresh!!
Then decided to go to ZooDoo again haha.. Not so many things to go and do in Richmond in Tasmania but gooood enough to appreciate the nature and can feel the existence of God through the perfect nature!!
here are another photos there.
Day 4, 11th Mar.
Checked-out at 7 am, headed to Hobard airport to catch the flight departing at 10:10.
Moved to Sydney as next destination, let me continue the story with another page, I'll write when I have time the other day..
Thank you for reading so long!! Have a nice day!! ☺
See you
Mitsu
