At the so-called Hostage Square at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Amit Sousanna, who was kidnapped and freed in the first deal, took the stage to vigorous applause.

"I wasn't there to watch the [Israeli] celebrations for the first cease-fire myself," she said. "I saw them on TV in Gaza... When I was released, I left people I love behind…we cannot abandon them again. We can't stand to do that again."

Family members of hostages including Einav Zangauker, Danny Elgarat, Yifat Kalderon, and Yehuda Cohen issued a statement outside the defense establishment headquarters ahead of the events.
