２－６－２　　『橋ものがたり』(赤い夕日)で、男女関係の描写も。

　斧次郎は狼狽したように顔をそむけた。「大きくなると、ろくなことを考えねえ」「かわいそうに」とおもんは言った。ひどく大人びた気持ちになっていた。「女のひとに、よっぽどひどい目にあったのね」
　その夜、おもんは斧次郎が寝ている部屋に忍び込んで行った。「やめろ」斧次郎は険しい声で言った。「つまらねえ真似をしゃがると、後で後悔するぞ」「まだ女じゃないって言ったでしょ。だったら昔のように抱いて寝てよ」斧次郎は沈黙したが、やがて黙ったまま夜具の端をあげた。
　一年ほど、二人は夫婦のようにして暮らした。もっともそれは夜だけのことで、朝になると親子にもどった。斧次郎がどう思っているかはわからなかったが、おもんはそうすることに違和感は持たず、満足していた。女房も持たず、こどももない斧次郎のために、女房になったり、子供になったりしてやっているという気がした。じっさいおもんは、斧次郎の身体の中で、女の喜びを告げたあと、子供のときにそうしたように、斧次郎の股の間に足を入れ、幅はあるが痩せている胸の頬を埋めて眠った。そうすると、一人で眠るときよりもよく眠れた。(藤沢周平『橋ものがたり』「赤い夕日」二)

If so, hug me and sleep with me like you used to." Onojiro was silent but eventually remained silent. He raised the edge of the bedclothes.

However, it was only at night, and in the morning they returned to a parent and a child. she didn't know what Onojiro thought, but Omon didn't feel uncomfortable doing so and she was happy. He didn't have a wife, and she felt she was doing it as a wife or a child for Onojiro, who had no children. In fact, after telling the joy of a woman in Onojiro's body, she put her legs between Onojiro's crotch, as she did when she was a child, and her chest was wide but thin.
