２―5ー２　『橋ものがたり』で、吉蔵がお峰を追いかけると、「女を殺すな！」と武士善左エ門が己の過去の経験から吉蔵に諭す。赤い夕日が橋を染めているラストシーンは素晴らしい。

「「いとしかったら、殺してはならん」
そう言ったとき、善左エ門の眼に不意に涙が盛りあがり、涙は溢れて頬をしたたり落ちた。善左エ門は眼をそらさずに吉蔵を見つめていた。涙の意味は、吉蔵にはわからなかった。それなのに、善左エ門をゆさぶった悲しみが、なぜかわかる気がした。吉蔵は、自分の眼にも涙が溢れるのを感じた。人間というやつは、 なんてえ切ねえ生き物なんだ、と吉蔵は思っていた。」（藤沢周平『橋ものがたり』-殺すな-）

２－５－２ 　When Yoshizo chases Omine in "Bridge Stories", ”Don't kill the woman!”, Samurai Zenzaemon advises Yoshizo based on his past experience. The last scene where the red sunset dyes the bridge is wonderful.

　　　"If you love her, don't kill her."
When he said that, tears suddenly burst into the eyes of Zenzaemon, and the tears overflowed and fell down his cheeks. Zenzaemon was staring at Yoshizo without looking away. Yoshizo didn't understand the meaning of tears. Even so, he felt that he could understand why the sadness that shook  Zenzaemon. Yoshizo felt tears in his eyes.
