８『市塵』３　あらすじ（２）

 

　新井白石には是非とも成し遂げなければならない事があった。一つには、先代綱吉政権下での乱脈を極めた貨幣政策の抜本的改革です。そのためには、責任者・荻原重秀との対決も辞さない覚悟です。

これに時期を同じくして、家宣の代になった事に対する、朝鮮使節の歓迎式典が執り行われたり、はたまた、シドッチという宣教師の密入国問題などが浮上してきます。

これらを処理していく内に、いつしか新井白石は政権の中枢で絶大な権力を発揮する事になります。しかし、この権力の裏付けになっていました、家宣が亡くなってしまうと、徐々にその権力の足許が揺らぎ始める。家宣の次の将軍は幼年で将軍になった家継である。

徳川将軍家二代にわたり政権の中枢にいた新井白石を描いた伝記的歴史小説。

 

8 　"Shijin (City Dust)"　３　 Synopsis (２)

　　　There was something that Hakuseki Arai had to accomplish by all means. One is the drastic reform of monetary policy, which was extremely chaotic under the former Tsunayoshi administration. To that end, he is prepared to confront the person in charge, Shigehide Ogiwara.

          Around the same time, a ceremony was held to welcome the Korean envoys to Ienobu, and the problem of smuggling a missionary named Sidotchi into the country came to the fore.

　　 While dealing with these, Hakuseki Arai will eventually exert tremendous power at the center of the government. However, when Ienobu, who supported this power, died, the power gradually began to waver. Ienobu's next shogun was Ietsugu, who became shogun at an early age.

        A biographical historical novel depicting Hakuseki Arai, who was at the center of government for two generations of the Tokugawa shogunate.
