　下駄雪駄鼻緒問屋相馬屋の奉公人が店の戸を閉めようとした時に、主人善右衛門のもとに、甥の富蔵が現れる。5両の借金依頼である。善右衛門は話を聞くが追い返す。だが、その後、3両の金を包んで富蔵を追いかける。善右衛門の心理の変化が巧みに描かれていく。善右衛門が行う己の心理の変転の振り返りが興味深い。自分中心に物事を考えてしまう様子が巧みに織り込まれている。そうだよな･･･と共感する。

　　　When a servant at Somaya, a wooden clog and a leather-soled sandals thong wholesaler, was about to close the door, his nephew Tomizo appeared before the master, Zen'emon. This is a request for a loan of 5 Ryos. Zen'emon listens to the story but chases him away. But then he wraps ３ Ryos of gold and chases after Tomizo. The changes in Zen'emon's psychology are skillfully depicted. It is interesting to see Zen'emon reflect on the changes in his psychology.
