Overall Team Atmosphere

July 25, 2014. Summer in Japan is just so hot.
I think it took a lot of energy out of us in practice.

The World Cup is over and Diego has rejoined the team.
Cerezo has a new coach due to poor results.
Marco Pezzaioli, a German.
I looked up his background. He was the youth national team coach in Germany for 5 years and was an assistant coach at Hoffenheim before he was appointed as the manager of Cerezo, but he was dismissed as the manager of Cerezo after only about 3 months.

I had no way of knowing his feelings or the internal situation of the team, but I wondered if the change of coach could be the cause of the team's poor performance.

Diego later said in an interview, "When I came back from the World Cup, I thought, even though the team lost, there were a lot of smiles at the next practice." He said.
It was no wonder that the team did not seem to have a sense of crisis.

Around this time, Kakitani, the team's forward, had moved to Switzerland.

チーム全体の雰囲気

2014年７月２５日。日本の夏はとにかく暑い。

ワールドカップが終了しディエゴも再びチームに合流しました。
セレッソは成績不振で監督が交代。
ドイツ人のマルコ・ペッツァイオリ。
彼の経歴を調べた。ドイツのユース代表監督を５年間努め、ホッフェンハイムのアシスタントコーチをした後、セレッソの監督に就任しているが、僅か約３か月でセレッソの監督を解任された。

私は監督の心情やチームの内部事情を知る由もなかったが、チームの成績不振の原因を監督交代で決めてしまっていいのか不思議だった。

ディエゴはのちにインタビューで「ワールドカップから帰ってきて思ったのは、チームは負けても次の練習では笑顔が多かった。危機感がない」と。
ディエゴにそう思われても仕方なかった。
彼らはチームの雰囲気を明るくするために笑顔が多かったのか！？
それともいつかよくなるだろうという気持ちからの笑顔だったのか！？

この頃、チームのFW柿谷はスイスへ移籍していた。
ディエゴを生かす選手は誰になるんだろうと心配になってきた。
