［英詩］Dylan, 'Not Dark Yet'

ボブ・ディランの 'Not Dark Yet' はアルバム 'Time Out of Mind' (1997) の美的詩的頂点と目される。これほど痛切な歌はないとも言える。

ぼんやり聞くとぼんやりした感想しか生まれないかもしれないが、最初の1行から最後の1行に至るまで、詩が連れて行く方向は明確だ。

それが明確である理由は、その方向がすべての人に共通した方向だからだ。

そのテーマについては古今の文学的先例がある。なかでもジョン・キーツの 'Ode to a Nightingale' との並行関係がクリストファ・リクスにより詳細に分析されている。

今回は、そのあたりも含め、できるだけわかりやすく提示してみたい。
