【IDEOU】Lesson1_Practice Observing

1週目は観察の練習。目的としては、以下のように設定されている。

LEARNING GOAL：
　Practice how to listen with your eyes in order to understand what people value and care about.

7/18までに設定した課題に対するAssignment提出があり、それに向けて講義を受けていく。内容としては以下の3ステップ。

Step1: ”What's in your bag?”
Step2: ”Practice Interpreting”
Step3: ”Assignment(Practice Observing) ”

順次説明していく。

Step1: ”What's in your bag?”
 ⇒ 自分のカバンの中身を写真に撮って、メンバーにシェアする。そこから推察できることをメンバー内でコメント・フィードバックをしていく。

メンバーからは”Tech 系の会社で働いているの？”と当てられてしまった。カバンの中身だけで色々なことがわかるということを改めて実感。

メンバーの一人の写真はこちら↓カバンの中身もだけでなく、写真の撮り方にも個性が出る。

Step2: ”Practice Interpreting”
 ⇒教材として出てきたある女性の部屋の写真4枚から、部屋の持ち主の人となりを辿っていく。

お題としては、"Share your responses to three questions"として以下の3つの質問に答えていく。
　‐ What is one theme that jumped out at you?
　‐ What does this person value?
　‐ If you could meet this person, what one question would you ask him/her?

自分の回答：
・Theme: Collector, Organized
　　‐ There is a lot of wooden heads and flower decorations
・Value: Functionality rather than good looks
　　- Things are piled up on the shelf
・Questions: Story of wooden heads.
　　- Would be a big hint to know the person better(traveler?, hobby?...)

これに対して、①IDEOUのTeaching Leadの解釈した内容のシェアと②実際の部屋の持ち主へのインタビューがあり、どういったところに着眼すべきか？についてアドバイスをくれる。自分がいかに自分の見たいものだけを見ているかを実感する講義であった。

①については、以下のような内容の解釈がされていた。

　‐ Look, a lot of books.
　‐ Down here she's got a lot of records.
　‐ Over here all of her clothes are lined up.
　‐ When I look at her kitchen, I see it's very colorful.
　‐ She's got all these wonderful handmade pieces.
　‐ She has mouthwash next to coffee-on-the-go,

ポイントとしては、目に入っていても言語化されていないと認知されないため、事実は事実として言語化していくことが重要。また一定のパターンがないかに着目することであったり、何に気を使っていそうか？などを考察していくことが観察の精度を上げていく。

次回は行動観察のためにTips、その次に自分の実施した行動観察について書いていく。
