謙遜と謙虚さ: 神の御前で成長し続けるために最も大切なもの

私たちは、神様から様々な賜物や才能を与えられています。それは、音楽、教えること、リーダーシップ、奉仕、もしくは他のどんなスキルであれ、すべては神の栄光のために使うべきものです。しかし、私たちが賜物を持っていること、または何かを成し遂げることができるという事実は、決して自分を誇る理由にはなりません。むしろ、私たちにとって本当に大切なのは、常に謙遜であることです。

謙遜とは、自分の限界を知り、すべてが神の恵みによるものであることを理解することです。自分の努力や能力によって成功したと思う時、私たちは神様の前で謙虚な心を失いやすくなります。しかし、実際には、私たちが達成するすべてのことは、神様の力と導きによるものです。自分の力でできることは何もなく、すべては神の御業です。

聖書にも「神は高ぶる者を退け、謙遜な者に恵みをお与えになる」（ヤコブ4:6）と書かれています。神の恵みを受け続け、成長し続けるためには、私たちは常に謙虚であり続ける必要があります。自分が持っているものやできることに対して感謝し、そのすべてが神のために用いられるべきであることを認識することが重要です。

謙遜であることによって、他者との関係もより深まります。自分の優位性を主張するのではなく、相手を尊重し、神の御心に従って行動することで、私たちは真の成長を遂げることができます。神の前で謙遜であり続けることが、私たちが主にあって成長し続ける鍵なのです。

Humility and Humbleness: The Most Important Thing to Keep Growing in the Lord

We are blessed with various talents and gifts from the Lord, whether in music, teaching, leadership, service, or any other skill. These gifts are meant to be used for the glory of God and to advance His Kingdom. However, possessing these gifts and accomplishing tasks should never be a reason to boast. Instead, the most crucial aspect of our walk with the Lord is to remain humble at all times.

Humility is the recognition that everything we have and everything we can do comes from God’s grace. It is easy to lose a humble heart when we start to believe that our achievements are due to our own efforts or abilities. But in truth, everything we accomplish is by the power and guidance of God. There is nothing we can do by our strength alone; it is all God’s work.

The Bible tells us that “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6). To continue receiving God's grace and growing in Him, we must always maintain a heart of humility. It is essential to acknowledge that everything we have and can do is meant to be used for His purposes. When we remain humble, we create space for God to continue working through us.

Humility also deepens our relationships with others. Instead of asserting our superiority, we respect others and act according to God’s will. This creates genuine growth not just in our personal walk with God, but in our community as well. Being humble before the Lord is the key to continuous spiritual growth. As we keep our hearts in a posture of humility, God can mold us, shape us, and use us in ways that truly advance His Kingdom.
