★I thought ～
あらかじめ予想した結果に対して、～と思っていたと、勘違いも含め現すときに使います

例)閉まっている。24時間営業と思ってました
They're closed. I thought they were open 24/7.

例)彼女の誕生日は、明日と勘違いしていた
I thought my girlfriend's birthday was tomorrow.

★I mixed up～
時間と日程を勘違いした場合に使われます
※"confuse"の代わりにも使える口語的な役割でもあります

例)時間を勘違いしてました
I mixed up the time.

例)日程を勘違いしていました。英会話レッスンは今日だと思ってました
I mixed up the dates. I thought my English lesson was today.

例)彼女を私を他の誰かと勘違いしています
I think she's mixing me up with someone else.

★I was under the impression that ～
"impression"は印象という意味で、～と思いこむ、
誤った思いこみなども含む

例) I was under the impression that we were closed on Christmas.
てっきり、クリスマスはお休みだと思っていました

例)てっきり彼はお金持ちだと、思っていました。
I was under the impression that he was rich.

★Misunderstand
耳で聞いた情報を、勘違いした場合に使われます

例)私の勘違いでした
That was my misunderstanding.

Misinterpret  間違って解釈する
Mishear 聞き間違いをする
Misread 読み間違いをする

例)彼女は私が言っていることを誤解している。
I think she misunderstood what I said.

例)メールを読み間違えて、ミーティングが5時からだと、思いました
I misread the email and thought the meeting was five.
