~ A New Challenge in Social Contribution Activities and Its Expansion ~
STAR FRUIT LLC (CEO: Teppei Saishoji) is launching a new project in collaboration with Mr. World Japan 2024 Representative, Tomohiro Mitani (referred to as "Tomo-san"). Through this project, we aim to convey the importance of social contribution activities. By utilizing Tomo-san’s influence and our social contribution platform, we hope to make social contributions more accessible to everyone.
Background and Purpose
Recently, awareness of social contribution activities has been growing among companies and individuals. However, many still feel that such activities are “too difficult” or “not really for me.” Our goal is to break down these barriers and create an environment where everyone can participate easily and enjoy contributing to society.
Tomo-san and our team met by chance at the same university (Keio University). As we talked, we discovered that he had a strong desire to “do something meaningful for society,” which aligned perfectly with our mission. This shared passion naturally deepened our discussions, leading to the realization of this project.
The Start of Tomo-san’s Interest in Social Contribution
――What was the reason behind Tomo-san’s interest in social contribution?
"The first time I became interested in social contribution was during a club activity in middle school. Through this activity, I encountered many social issues and saw people taking actions to address them. That experience made me realize that "I must be able to do something as well", and it made my interest in contributing to society."
――That experience must have had a big impact on you.
"Yes, it did. Looking back, it was a significant turning point. However, at that time, I didn’t know exactly how I could contribute to society. I was still searching for a way to make a difference."
――How did you eventually connect this experience to your current activities?
"After that, I focused completely on soccer. I spent every day practicing, dreaming of becoming a professional soccer player. But, in high school, I had an injury and had to give up on that dream. It was tough, but I decided to put more effort into my studies and aimed to enter Keio University. Setting a new goal helped me move forward."
――And that experience connects to what you are doing now, right?
"Yes, it does. After I entered university, I often realized how fortunate I was to have been raised in such a supportive environment. I became more aware of the opportunities I had and felt grateful for all the support I received. This made me constantly think, "What can I do in return?" and that question has always stayed with me."
――That question has shaped your involvement in this project, hasn’t it?
"Exactly. This experience is what drives my strong commitment to this project. The first step was participating in the Umisakura’s beach cleanup activities to experience social contribution. But this is just the starting point. I want to proceed with more concrete activities that can make a greater impact on society, and I hope this project can inspire others to think, ‘Maybe I can do something, too.’”
Details of the Collaboration
As the first step in this project, Tomo-san participated in Umisakura’s beach cleanup activities, which we are partnering with, and shared his experience through SNS and media. This allowed many people to learn about the importance and enjoyment of social contribution. Moving forward, we plan to take action in more concrete and sustainable initiatives together.
Tomo-san is committed to supporting the project with his statement, “I am willing to help with anything I can do.” We believe his active involvement will inspire more people to show interest in social contribution activities.
Future Prospects
The biggest strength of this project is Tomo-san’s influence. By sharing his participation in social contribution activities through SNS and media, we aim to encourage more people to get involved. Additionally, Tomo-san will be representing Japan at the Mr. World 2024 World Competition starting from November 5th. His commitment to the Mr. World philosophy of “Beauty With a Purpose (BWP)” will serve as the driving force for this project.
Through this collaboration, we hope Tomo-san can build a new image as a Mr. World representative who is deeply involved in social contribution. At the same time, we STAR FRUIT aim to be recognized by more people and promote the idea that social contribution can be “fun and accessible.”
This project is a major step forward, made possible through the cooperation between STAR FRUIT LLC and Tomo-san, to bring positive impact to society.
