ビジネス予測とは簡単にいうと「過去のデータから今後のビジネスの動向を予測すること」です。

この記事ではビジネス予測で使われる英単語をまとめています。

日本語でもわからない用語ばかり…。
英語になるとまったく理解不能なので、備忘録として途中に説明書きなども加えています。

参考）プロットとは
1.小説・演劇・映画などの筋・構想。2.統計などで、データを図表上に示すこと。

説明変数 explanatory variable と目的変数 response variable

説明変数は「何かの原因になっている変数」
目的変数は「その原因を受けて発生した結果となっている変数」

説明変数をｘ，目的変数をｙとすると

y=ax+b

のような形で表すことができる。

Quantitative forecasting methods are used to forecast future data as a function of past data and data patterns. Quantitative forecasting requires hard data and number crunching.
