Cultivating Collaboration and Innovation: A Glimpse into Life at LiNKX
Digital Division P.M (Senior Software Engineer)
What brought you to the IT industry?
Back in the early 2000s, when the IT boom was kicking in, the tech industry had a magnetic appeal that instantly fascinated me. Growing up, I developed a genuine passion for computers, captivated by their incredible capacity to build and create all sorts of fun things.
The endless potential of these devices filled me with excitement for development, and without any second thoughts, I decided to pursue a major in Computer Science. Now, with over 12 years of engineering experience, I'm thrilled to continue this journey at LiNKX.
Why did you decide to join LiNKX?
After spending over six incredible years in Japan and exploring various job opportunities, I knew it was time for a meaningful career shift. I was searching for a job where I wouldn't just be a face in the crowd, where I could truly be part of a team and communicate beyond just coding. That's when I stumbled upon LiNKX, and it felt like the perfect fit.
What really attracted me was the tight-knit atmosphere at LiNKX. With not too many people around, it was the perfect setup to build genuine connections and be a valued member of the group. Teamwork is essential to me, and I could sense that LiNKX shares the same value!
Not only that, but LiNKX operates in unique industries -fintech and lab automation. I found this incredibly intriguing as it meant working on cutting-edge projects and having a wider scope in developing software.
What are interesting and/or challenging things you face at LiNKX?【Project】
I’m involved in the BaaS project. Its primary objective is to enable API providers like banks and financial institutions to generate API endpoints, granting third parties access to their services through open banking specifications. Interestingly, while open access to banking APIs is gaining traction, the Japanese market remains relatively untapped. Pioneering the way in the niche market can be challenging yet makes me excited to be a part of such a unique project. It's also thrilling to explore new opportunities for project expansion, especially since we are currently in the adoption phase, despite the project being already at a mature stage of development.
【Working environment】
One aspect of LiNKX's working environment that I truly appreciate is the flexibility it offers. With the option to work remotely, I visit the office once every two weeks for team gatherings. The team mostly works from home, but the practice of pair programming fosters a sense of collaboration, making me feel connected despite the remote setup. It's this perfect balance of independence and team collaboration that truly sets LiNKX's working environment apart.
As a senior engineer, what do you keep in your mind when communicating with middle engineers?
When interacting with mid-level engineers, I’ve found that it’s less about seniority and more about their receptiveness and attitude. In a culture where everyone appreciates and learns from one another, those hierarchical lines fade away. I find myself comfortable asking for help from anyone because our engineers are not only smart but also incredibly supportive, making problem-solving a breeze.
As a senior engineer, I dive into technical details, guiding mid-level engineers to level up their skills. After all, it’s all about the team work, and I’m committed to the growth of each team member!
Message to future LiNKXers
