
Variety of する(suru) - To do ?!
In most of the languages, “Do” verb always contains some irregularities compared to other verbs... So does Japanese - する(suru)!!
Not only the conjugation, the MEANING changes depending on what particles come in front. Let’s take a look at them!

[ Particle を(wo) ] + する(suru)
= To do
... The most basic use.
... This particle can be omitted when the object is obvious in a sentence.
Examples
・秋葉原で買い物をする。
(akíhábara de kaímónó wó súrú)
: To do shopping at Akihabara.
... 秋葉原(akí há bara): Akihabara, a town in Tokyo
... 買い物(ka í mónó): shopping
・今何してますか?
(íma náni sh(i)témás(u) ká)
: What are you doing now?
... 今(íma): now
... 何(náni): what
... してます(sh(i) té má su): continuous form in a polite way of する(su ru)
... [verb in polite]か(ka): ending word for a question

[ Particle が(ga) ] + する(su ru)
= To hear / feel
... Often with 声(koe): voice, 音(oto): sound, or 気(ki): spirit
Examples
・何か音がする。
(náni ka otó ga suru)
: (I can) hear something.
... 何か(náni ka): something
... 音(otó): sound
・危なそうな気がします。
(abúnásóu na ki gá shímásu)
: (I) feel it seems dangerous/ risky.
... 危な(abú ná): conjunctive form of 危ない(abú ná i): dangerous, risky
... [adjective]そう(só u): to seem to be ~
... します(shi má su): polite form of する(su rú)

= To choose
Examples
・どれにする?
(dóre ni surú)
: Which one will you choose/ would you like?
... どれ(dó re): which one
・天ぷら定食にします。
(teńpúrá téishoku ni shimásu)
: I’ll choose/ take a Tempura combo.
... 天ぷら(teń pú rá): Tempura the deep fried vegetables/ seafoods.
... 定食(teí shókú): set menu

[amount of money]円(en) + する(suru)
= It costs ¥ ~ (in a surprised way)
... The verb is often
〜円(も)する (en (mo) suru) when it’s expensive, and
〜円(しか)しない(en (shika) shinai) when it’s cheap.
*Particles in brackets are for emphasises.
Examples
・お水1本で1000円もするの?!
(omízú ípoin de sén’en mo surú no)
: Does (this) water cost ¥1000 for a bottle?!
... お水(o mízú): water
... 1本(íp pon): a bottle (of something)
・こんなに入って500円しないんですか?!安すぎる!
(końnání háitte gohyákú en shinái ndes(u) ká?! yas(ú) súgíru!)
: It contains this many and only costs ¥500?! Too cheap!
... こんなに(ko ń ná ní): this many
... 入って(hái t te): TE form of 入る(hái ru): [something] contains, enters
... 安(yasú): conjunctive form of 安い(yasú i): cheap
... [adjective]すぎる(su gí ru): to be over, too much
*It often ends with の/んです(no/n desu) to emphasise your surprise.
