図形で使えるあれこれ

案外分からない図形についての単語集。
結局のところ、「英語で」学ぶことをしないと
そんなに会話でも使わない単語だからなのかも。
それでも日本語では当たり前に知っている単語なので
頭の片隅に置いておきたいなぁと思っています。

circle, triangle, square あたりは聞き馴染みのある単語（なはず）。
それでも square を「四角」と思っている方も
いるのではないでしょうか…？（わたし）
- square
squareは「正方形」という意味。
そしてその性質から「誠実」「公平」という意味があるのですが、
そこから更に派生して「つまらない奴」という意味も。
どこかに誘われた時に『be there or be square』と言われたら
「来ないとつまらない奴になっちゃうよ」というフレーズ。
それ以外にも『square』が入っているイディオムはたくさん。

- oval
「楕円」という意味の『oval』。
ネイルケアをしている方だと馴染みがあるかもしれないですね。
「オーバル」という爪の整え方（爪の形）があります。
